Bake Sale Recipe 3: Brownies

Want to make something simple (and simply divine) for a bake sale? Look no further than…brownies!

What You Need:

½ cup butter (melted)

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

¼ tsp baking powder

½ cup flour

What you do:

  1. Have your adult assistant help you melt the butter. When it’s melted, add the cocoa powder and stir until it’s well mixed.
  2. Mix the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy. Add the vanilla and mix well.
  3. Add the cocoa mixture to the egg mixture. Mix well.
  4. Slowly add the baking soda and flour.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Have your grown up put the brownies in a 350 F oven for about 20 – 25 minutes. Keep an eye on the brownies and test often – when the toothpick comes out nearly clean (after testing in the middle of the pan of brownies), they’re done!

Let the brownies cool – then enjoy! When the brownies are totally cool, you can add icing if you like.

We are making it RIGHT NOW! Question: In the ingredients it says Baking Powder, but in the directions it says Baking Powder! Also: Do you need to grease the pan before adding the batter to it? <3
