Craft: Designer clothespins

Here at camp, we leave messages for each other by pinning them onto strings we tie around the foot of our bed. We make a set of special clothespins so everyone knows who sent the message – it’s a ton of fun! Here’s how to make your own personalized set of clothespins:

What you need: 5-8 clothespins (however many you want to make), acrylic paint, jewels, glitter, rhinestones, stickers – anything that is distinctively YOU!

What you do:

1.       Draw out a design on a piece of paper ahead of time; decide what design and colors you’d like to use. You might choose to create a specific design and then use different colors to create it on each of your clothespins, or you might make all of your pins look EXACTLY the same. Totally up to you!

2.       Create your clothespins!

Let your design dry. When it’s dry, write a message and pin it somewhere for a friend or family member to find.

You can also glue magnets to the back of them and use them on the fridge or in your locker or on anyting metal. (Except your compputer tower of course) Would love the recipe for watermelon shirt the winged shoes or the green jacket or green swimsuit. -Coopdevil77

Cool. I remember one time I took a clothespin and glued four colored cotton balls on it. Then I added two googly (is that how you spell it?) eyes to the front ball and two small pieces of pipecleaners to the top of the ball to make a caterpillar pin. It was pretty cool. :)
