Crafty Critterz: Marching Band Hat

What you need:

• 1 Tin Can
• Construction Paper (Red, Yellow and Black)
• Glue
• Tape
• Rubber band
• Scissors
• Ruler

What you do:

1. Wash the tin can and remove the paper around it.
2. Cut the red construction paper to 9 ½ inches wide and 4 ½ inches long to fit the can.
3. Glue the red construction paper all around the can.
4. Cut a strip of yellow construction paper ½ inch wide with a lump in the middle. Making sure it will fit all the way around the tin can.
5. Glue the yellow strip on the tin can.
6. Cut the black construction paper into a semi-circle.
7. Glue the black semi-circle on the middle on the yellow strip.
8. Cut a larger semi-circle in the black construction paper.
9. Glue the larger semi-circle to the inside of the tin can.  Make sure the round part is still out to make the “bill”. Tape it on the top of the inside part to make it more secure.
10. Cut your rubber band in half.
11. Using one side of the rubber band, tape it to the inside of the tin can.  Do the same to the other side.
