Taking care of the environment is SO important. One of the easiest things to do is to reduce the amount you waste. For instance, carry your lunch to school in reusable plastic containers. You’ll instantly reduce the amount of stuff you throw out each day!
What other reducing tips do you have, friends?
Turn off lights when you are not in the room, and use reuseable bags!
Just a thought – my local food bank accepts back yard fruit. Our fruit trees usually produce a lot & it mostly gets ripe all at the same time. What we don’t use goes to the food bank. This helps the hungry & keeps a ton of waste out of the land fill.
Yeah Catkin exactly! People in the real world should follow in her footsteps!
I don’t think Salley has gone over the top at all. Thank goodness SOMEONE in Kinzville is responsible enough to care about this! When I read about Stoogles waste-fest (I mean birthday party) I was completely disgusted. There does NOT “always have to be waste at a party”. We don’t have to be lazy & thoughtless, that’s a choice. The ideas for reduce & re-use here so far are great & I wish everyone on the planet was doing these things instead of “Just chucking it”. Here’s another one: If you get take-out food, wash & reuse the plastic containers for leftovers or when sending food home with someone. Use till they break, then recycle. That way they won’t end up in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch or anywhere else they should not be!
If u moved [like i did] instead of packing peanuts, use newsprint, which u can recycle. u can also walk to school, and there are special bio-degradeable doggie bags u can buy. compost ur extra food as long as it’s not cheese or meat. buy LOCALLY grown food oh organic is great 2! in the ocean, there’s a patch of garbage the size of texas. think about that 4 awhile.
Turn out lights and unplug appliances (not the fridge of course) when you aren’t using them. Even turning your computer off instead of leaving it to go to sleep itself saves electricity. Make sure the water is turned off when you are done and if the tap is dripping tell someone to get it fixed right away.
Oh, why did I even read this? Salley is getting too OVER the top! * Luv from LillyLuvie*

We walk or ride bikes to school to save on using gasoline. We also re-use plastic grocery bags as many times as possible. They are our bathroom garbage liners. We try to get paper bags when we can.
Use not only plastic reusable containers, but reusable lunch bags! You can also take things like the plastic from lunchables and give it to your art teaher if she wants them. My art teacher at school was running low on cups to put plaster in ( we are doing masks ) so she let me cut my lunchable up and rinse it out and then it was reused before recycle or trash ( I don’t know where all the pices went) It also helps save paper cups, which I think most people don’t throw them in the recycle, but they are made of paper.
At my house, we feed leftover food to the Gofers or whatever they are, and other animals eat the food too. The “critters” LOVE corn on the cob, they pick it clean. :) *Peeta Bread*
Water! Bring it in a non plastic bottle. If you can’t, make sure to save the plastic bottle and fill it up again! ^-^Cinderpelt^-^
You can buy a reusable and biodegradable water bottle! You can bike or walk to school instead of taking a bus, that is, if the school is close enough! If you have dogs…. grocery bags are good for “doggy duty” and those grocery bags you can use for so many things! you can also get paper bags from the stores instead of plastic bags. We use those to put our recycling in and then we can just throw the whole thing into the recycling bin when it’s full. You could also participate in a program that plants trees. You should stop the water when you are brushing your teeth. Also when you are putting shampoo on, don’t let the water keep going. You could think about saving your money and then donating or using it for something that helps the earth, not like spending it at the dollar store. Try not to use tape so much! Try not to buy things with styrofoam, as it is a hard plastic to recycle!
Hey, I walk to school :) :!: My school I a little over a mile away, but I enjoy it . Does anyone else walk to school:?: If so please reply ~*Mistyfoot*~ May is for flowers that brings us all cheer. Thank you for being here :) :D :P
