Hey Everyone,
It’s me – Salley. Today I want to talk to you about reusing. Reusing is another thing we can do to help out the environment. When you reuse something, you use it again.
For instance, I noticed that Stoogles always brought his sandwich in a plastic bag. I asked him why he didn’t just invest in a sandwich container that he could use over and over again. He said that was a great idea! Now, he reuses it each day at lunch.
When school started in September, I still had my binders from last year. They were looking pretty rough, though. Instead of buying new ones, I decided to recover my old ones with fabric and decorate them with fabric pens – and they’re gorgeous! Instead of buying new, I just reused what I had.
Do you have any good examples of reusing, friends?
I really like to drink out of a straw, but doing that creates a lot of waste, especially if you use one with every drink. I didn’t even know glass straws existed, but we ordered a few for my house, and now I can feel fine about using straws. There is a special thin brush you use to clean it out, and you can re-use it all the time. You just have to be careful not to drop it!
I love to recycle old greeting cards. I make small boxes out of them. They can be used for a bunch of different things. I also use cereal boxes to hold larger items.
this craft also works with one of those foam cups you can get your iced coffee in at dunkin donuts :D
are famly reuses a lot of boxes and containers that stuff comes in and such.
i have a tip! first, save your old plastic spring water bottles. then, put some bright colored construction paper around the bottle. then draw little doodles on it and put on stickers if you want. and you can decorate the cap with sharpie too! :)
I have a reusable water bottle too!!!!!!!!!!
I have a reusable water bottle. And a reusable lunch bag. And a reusable Tupperware container. Make that one x4. Oh, and x5 for my mom, dad, brother and sister. Not to mention my BFFs. And my TF (true friends). And my FF (friends forever). And, well this could go on forever… ♥
I love those ideas Sal-Pal of Environment! That’s right Sal, that’s your new name! Sal-Pal of the Environment! Hope you like it! Cause it truly suits you! You’re awesome Sal-Pal of the Environment! But maybe I’ll just call you Sal for short. ~CC~
I have a reusable water bottle. Although it spills a lot, I still am happy with it. GO REUSING!!! *Your content (happy) friend Orange Starburst,*
What a great tip, Salley! Hmmm. What do I re-use? I re-use old greeting cards – we cut them out and paste them onto cardstock and make new cards with a pretty collage on the front. All the best! MDIChickadee
