Henrietta’s Visit with Fluffington

Oh, dear. What a day! I had to pay a visit to my old friend, Fluffington, today and not just for pleasantries.

Fluffington is having a bit of a stressful holiday season this year. He decided that he would throw a huge Christmas party at his mansion. Which would have been perfectly fine – he did exactly the right thing, and instead of trying to take on too much himself, he hired others to help out. For instance, he asked Hailey and Elwin to help with his holiday decorating and he hired Chef Gazpacho to prepare some special foods. It all seemed well in hand.

The problem is – Fluffington can be a bit of a control freak and he has very particular ideas about how he likes things done. And his ideas can be little bit, how shall we say, grand? I swear, I don’t think anything less than solid gold decorations and 100KC an ounce caviar would have pleased him. Of course, the designers and chef that he hired had different ideas, like creating a fun atmosphere that would be welcoming and appealing to everyone, not just Fluffington and his Great Aunt Meriwether.

Which brings me to the reason for my visit. After listening to Fluffington’s complaints about how this wasn’t good enough and that wasn’t good enough, I decided this silliness had gone on long enough. I sat down with Fluffington and explained that although no one was disputing that his party should be anything but high class, he should try to remember that not everyone had been exposed to such fine things as he had and that some of his guests might feel out of place if every aspect of the party was kept up to his exacting standards. (I know, I know, readers, but sometimes the only way to get through to Fluffington is with flattery.)

It seemed to do the trick because next thing Fluffington said that maybe he had been too hard on Hailey and Elwin and perhaps if was going to throw a party for all of Kinzville, he would have to bring himself down to their level. (Yes, he actually said that and no, I couldn’t believe it either.)

So I’ve arranged a meeting between him and the designers. I hope he doesn’t say anything too offensive, don’t you?

Thank you, Henrietta! Sounds like he might have a great party after all! :-)

Moonstar I agree. It’s Fluffington’s party, and the designers didn’t do what he asked. Maybe he was being picky with Chef Gazpacho, but still. Although Haily and Elwin had some nice ideas, Fluffington asked them to do something specific, yet they didn’t. Moonstar can I add you? My username is playshay6. LillyLuvie can I add you, too? Look for a friend request! KrystallKat, Kodiak, BostonROCKS, SwedishLatte, and sarahandlacey you’re all nice, can you add me? LMK if I’m forgetting anyone ;)

Well, thank goodness. One thing out of the way. Stoogles and Cowabelle need to put their pride on a zeppelin out of this world before their friendships with Salley and Roberta go down the toilet

Good job Henrietta! I knew I could rely on you to fix Fluffington’s problems. I definitely didn’t want Hailey and Edwin to fired because I absolutely LOVED the rooms they designed! Also I’m not a huge fan of Fluffington because he said that OBVIOUSLY children are supposed to just sit quietly and only speak when spoken to, which I do not agree with at all.

Well, one problem down, lots more to go!

          • dawndrop16 says:

Exactly! Plus, you’ve hired the best designers and chef in Kinzville! I hope the meeting between Fluffington and Hailey and Elwin goes smoothly. ~Dawn~

Well, I am with Fluffington and Meriwhether here. It is HIS party. The chef and designers were very wrong with not doing what Fluffington expected.

        • Serene says:

But Moonstar, before they started doing their work, the Chef and Designers weren’t told exactly what Fluffington expected. Remember :?: It was Fluffington being picky.
          Happy Holidays :!: -Serene

        • Tumble says:

Can I add you, Boston Rocks!, Northwestern, and Kodiak on WW, Moonstar? The first three letters in may username are Lov.

        • MDIChickadee says:

Hi Moonstar! You always have such interesting ideas! In this situation, I thought Fluffington had pretty much given freedom to the designers and chefs to make recommendations, and then, when it was not what he expected, he was upset. If he has an idea how he wants it done, he needs to share that idea BEFORE the process begins, so that those helping can decide if that is something they can do or not. To become huffy because they did not guess what he wanted does not seem fair to me. But that is just me. Hope you are having a great day!

    • Tumble says:

Honestly, Fluffington…? Is this really worth getting riled up about? :rolls eyes:
