You’ll never believe what happened yesterday. I’m still having a tough time believing it myself. It all started when Millie and I got home from school. Millie was babbling about wanting me to play with her dolls and then finger paint and who knows what else, and I just wanted to sit down and chill for a bit. I tried to hide out in the kitchen, but my mom was waiting for us. She had a big mug of hot chocolate and a plate of cookies for each of us – that should’ve been my first clue that something was up. Mom is definitely NOT OK with us eating cookies before dinner. Anyway, Millie and I sat down and enjoyed our snack – and then mom decided to spring the news on us.
Our family – our ENTIRE family – is coming to spend Christmas with us.
Now, I know SOME ‘Kinz who would be super-excited about that. But the thing is, I’ve got twenty-five relatives on my mom’s side. Twenty-five. And our house really isn’t that big. Plus, some of my relatives are just…awful. Like my twin cousins, Bobby and Robby. And my Uncle Maury. And my great-great-Aunt Lynette. And my grandma is ALWAYS telling me to be polite sit up straight. My grandfather is constantly reminding me to be nice to my younger cousins – and there are ten of those running around! Most of them are around Millie’s age, so she gets along just fine with them. But me? I’m the oldest. The next in line are Bobby and Robby, and after they drew some VERY unflattering cartoons of me on my bedroom door (in permanent marker), we haven’t exactly been friends.
The long and short if it is that they’re all coming in five days and they’re staying until Christmas. I may just move out to the tree house until the New Year. At least it’ll be quiet out there.
Aw. Poor Molly! I have 27 PEOPLE at our Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving. And then 31 at my Aunt’s house (in New York) and it’s pretty, uh, crowded. I don’t have the kids problem….so that’s nice. I hope you’ll work things out! :D

Oh, Molly! You are certainly going to have a *different* Christmas this year. Any chance the difficult cousins (Robby and Bobby) have grown a bit? Can you make a plan for this time? Things everyone can do (the younger ones and the older ones) that would be fun and keep them busy? Perhaps you and your Mom and Milly can brainstorm a fun-things-to-do list. And sometimes you just have to deal with family as they are: they are a part of you, and you are a part of them. Practice saying “Thank you” in a cheerful tone when your grandparents offer their suggestions (and thereby show them how grownup you have become!) Good luck!!

OH, Molly. I used to not like my cousins either, but maybe yours have matured too. At least that solves two problems… Your grandma though, well… just sit up straight, and you’ll be sure to get lots of presents!

Wow! Thats alot of family! I know how you felt. 2 christmasas ago like 13 of my relatives came and it was so LOUD and Small, not enough room for me. People started coming in my room! :( but other than that i had a good time and got lots of presents! ;)

My little cousins are coming for Christmas, and they are so rambuntious. They eat with their fingers and refuse to try anything new. (Not even sauce on spaghetti!) And the younger of the two is almost seven! And if anyone saw the w-tales story of when Molly had to watch Millie, remeber how Millie painted a wall and flooded the bath? Well, they did that at Northwestern’s house, and Northwestern was alone with them!
I would set into Panic Mode!!!!!!!!!! :mrgreen: I’d me cleaning my whole house, even dusting the top of the refrigirator and cabinets! My room is always clean, so I wouldn’t worry about that…. but I would worry about my sis’s (Goldenshadowsforever). She is so messy sometimes. ANYWAYs, just try and cheer up. Maybe you’ll find something in common with one of your relatives! :lol:

Well I actually love my entire family so it wouldn’t be that bad!! But if it was I’d grab all my favorite movies, books, my laptop, phone, i pod, and my kindle (in case i read all of my books) and lock myself in the basement with lots of food. There’s a bed, bathroom and tv so I’d just live down there until they left.

First of all, c if one of your only-child friends, like Cowabelle, can take your prized possesions, just 4 now, and lock them up somewhere safe. Because whatever u do, sooner or later, your cousins will find a way 2 steal your stuff. When your family comes along, stay in your room with the door LOCKED, if it’s okay with your mom. If it is not okay, then find a fun game the all of u can play.
