You’ll never believe what happened to me today. I was at Cowabelle’s house, working on a geography project with Cowabelle and Roberta. We were looking up facts about Kinzville, when all of a sudden Roberta asked this really random question.
“What would you do if a boy liked you?”
Cowabelle giggled, and then they got into this long conversation about which boys they like at school and which TV star is cutest and stuff like that.
But me? I didn’t know what to say. I’ve never really thought about it, to be honest. When I didn’t answer, Roberta said, “What if a boy liked YOU, Molly?”
And I said, “That would be OK, I guess.”
And then Cowabelle started to laugh and she said, “Just tell her!”
And I said, “Tell me what?”
And they laughed some more and then guess what Roberta finally said?
She found out that Alex Tiger likes me. AND he bought me chocolates for Valentine’s Day!
Alex. Alex Tiger! My friend! I couldn’t believe it. I told her she must have her facts wrong, but she assured me that she was right.
I quickly changed the subject and suggested that we get a snack. Roberta and Cowabelle didn’t mention Alex again, but they kept exchanging glances and smiling.
Ugh.
So. Now what? I don’t like Alex like that! He’s just my friend. I’m too young to date anyone – my parents would freak out! So now I just have to tell him the truth – nicely, of course, and hope that we can still be buddies afterwards.
I guess I’ll talk to him tomorrow.
Now, Molly don’t be hasty in making your decision too quickly. What I am trying to say…Is that Yes, you are too young to date right now;but, let Alex come to you and give the chocolates for Valentine’s Day. When he confesses his feelings for you; you need to show compassion and understanding;then ask him if you two and take it slow and work on being better friends and see what the relationship might go from there but DON’T BE FOOLISH like some are and hurt him because he is all a good friend and someone you can share your feelings with and he is understanding…okay…
I don’t wanna be mean, but it shouldn’t have ended this way!!! Roberta, I don’t think the guys would wanna be friends anymore… Roberta, stop trying to be cool and act like you know everything.
