More fun facts about Hedgehogs
Hi there! It’s me again, the Pet of the Month for April. I wanted to share some more fun facts with you about us hedgehogs.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal. That means that when you are asleep in bed, we are up and about. Nighttime is when we’re awake and active and we sleep during the day. We usually dig dens to sleep in, but we can also sleep under a rock or a bush. In colder climates we hibernate during the winter like bears. And you can’t tell from looking at us, but did you know that we’re actually pretty good climbers? We can climb fences and trees.
We love to eat insects! And we also love snails, frogs, and toads. That’s why we just LOVE our Pet of the Month special food, the Floating Snail Fondue. In England, people like having us around their gardens because we eat so many bugs and pests.
Mmmm… bugs.
I love my webkinz hedgehog Huggles. The fact the pet of the month is the hedgehog is just out of this world.
Cool facts! I didn’t know hedgehogs were nocturnal! We saw one in florida…A big one! And out in the day too. Oh wait, maybe I’m confused. It might’ve been a armidillo and not a hedgehog. But it was still really cool! :-)
Hedgehogs have some in common with gerbils (my real life pets). I guess not all hedgehogs like to wear sneakers & go after gold rings! lol =) fr3d420

I feel like doing a poem too! A thistle a bristle, the hedgehog wakes up. A moony glimmer on its thornes and its peeking nose. Its night, nocturnal me wakes up. Eating some buggles and snuggles. April showers bring may flowers just like hogs and hedges bring me. ~KK ♥
