Ms. Stripes’ Halloween Party

Sparky (or should I say Spooky?) here. So today was our class Halloween party and guess what? It wasn’t even lame! In fact, not only was it not lame – it was actually pretty awesome! Now, don’t get me wrong – it did start out pretty badly. I mean, who has a Halloween party with no candy, no costumes and no scary decorations? And it was obvious to everybody pretty early on that the party was basically no fun at all. I think even Ms. Stripes knew it wasn’t going well because when Roberta suggested that maybe things would pick up a bit if we put up some of those decorations we had made, Ms. Stripes said that was a great idea. Once we put up the decorations everyone seemed to get into the spirit a bit more. When things started to liven up, Ms. Stripes said maybe she had been a bit too hasty when she said we couldn’t wear costumes. Nibbles pointed out that a lot of us had our costumes in our backpacks because we were all going over to Roberta’s that night to go trick-or-treating and Ms. Stripes told us we could go to the locker room and change. Not everyone had their costume with them but some people made up awesome costumes right in class. Laurabeard made a pirate hat and an eyepatch out of black construction paper and she looked awesome! We were having so much fun and the food wasn’t even that bad – we had popcorn and hot dogs – but you will never guess what happened next! Ms. Daisy came by and said that the kids in her class had brought in so much candy they would never be able to finish it all and did we want it? So in the end, our party had everything you could wish for in a Halloween party! And Ms. Stripes even admitted to us at the end of the day that maybe she had been wrong about the party and that next time she would listen to us.
