One Snowy Deed

Well, even though I didn’t get to help out at the soup kitchen yesterday, I did get to do a good deed today. I asked mom if she had heard from, Mr. Badgerly, our elderly neighbor. Mom said she hadn’t, and I suggested that we visit him to make sure he was OK. Mom was really happy to hear that. We got on our winter clothes and trudged over to Mr. B’s house and knocked on the door. After a few LONG minutes, he answered (he doesn’t move so fast these days). He invited us in for tea, but I said I had something to do first. I took the shovel that was next to his garage and shoveled his entire driveway. When I finally went inside, Mom and Mr. B were enjoying a cup of tea. Mr. B. asked what I had been doing, and I told him. His eyes got all misty and he thanked me about ten times! He made me a cup of tea and brought out these delicious biscuits. He said I could have as many as I wanted, but I only ate two (Mom would’ve freaked out if I had eaten more than that). When we left, Mr. Badgerly thanked us for visiting, and told me he would be happy to pay me to shovel his driveway next time it snowed. I told him I wouldn’t take his KinzCash, and that helping him was my pleasure.

Doing good deeds really is awesome, you know?
