Purr-cilla’s Party

Yikes. It’s Penelope here. You know, Purr-cilla’s friend, Penelope? Janice and I just left Purr-cilla’s party. She is not happy. We got there and she had all this food prepared and all these decorations up. She had gone all out because she said she wanted this to be the most awesome party every. Purr-cilla said that at soon as everyone got there, she was going to crank up the tunes so loud that the ‘Kinz could hear them all the way from the park and then they’d regret that they didn’t come to her party (the ones she invited, that is.)

So we’re sitting there, waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive, and we just keep sitting and sitting and sitting. Purr-cilla kept checking the time on her phone, and after about an hour, I think it finally started to dawn on her that no one was coming to her party. She pretended that she didn’t care, but Janice and I could tell that she was really upset.

So then Janice said that we meant to bring something but we had forgotten and we would be right back. Then she grabbed me and we ran out the door. As soon as we got outside Janice said we had to find someone to come to the party.

So now we’re on our way to the park. I hope we meet some of the kids from school there. And I hope they’ll be willing to come to the party.

Poor Purr-cilla. She’s not as bad as everyone thinks she is. She’s just needs a bit more practice at being nice, that’s all.

I do feel kinda bad for her. I would be so sad if nobody came to my birthday party. But it’s her fault for bragging.

I’m not surprised by this turn of events at all. Cheer up Purr-Cilla, you have 2 great friends in Janice & Penelope. Maybe they will be able to save the day! How lucky for you that they want to try. Go, Janice & Penelope!!!

Purr-cilla, True friendship is not about trying to impress. It is about being there and making fun memories together. I know this is a very hard lesson to learn, but it is so very important. Real friends do not care about the stuff, they care about what is in your heart.
