Roberta’s baby names

So my mom and dad are really excited about the new baby I heard them talking about what they would name a baby girl. So I thought I’d help them out by suggesting some names. I mean, they have enough to worry about, right? I thought this could be my thing.

I decided to start with girl names and I came up with some awesome ones! I found this book at the library with a huge list of names and their meanings.

Here is what I narrowed it down to:

Ranulfa apparently means wolf. I know it may not be your typical rabbit name, but hey – I bet my baby sister is going to be powerful and brave.

Rashida means righteous. How perfect is that for my little sis?

Rubella. Okay, this wasn’t actually in the book. I just like it. My mom says that’s a word for measles, not a name, but I think it’s got something, don’t you?

Raghnild means one who is fierce in battle. (Okay, I might have a new fav here).

Rathnait means wealthy or charming and who wouldn’t want that?

Rhodanthe means Rose. How pretty is that?

Rochette means ‘from the little rock.’ Um, we can make that work, right? I like it – Roberta and Rochette.

So I showed my list to my mom and dad and can you say ‘closed-minded’? They said that some of the names were ‘interesting’ which is parent-speak for ‘I don’t think so’. And they said absolutely positively no way to Rubella. But just think how unique that would be! Anyway, they said that they had really been considering some more traditional names but that they would take my list in consideration.

Hmph. I still like Raghnild. That is an awesome name!

Now I have a long list of names I may use in my books. I want to look them up and see what they really mean, though. I really like Rhodanthe! Have you ever thought about names from books you like reading, not just name dictionaries? ~~O~~SapphireSea~*~*~

Ew, don’t name her Rubella! Everyone who knows it means measles will make fun of her FOR LIFE! You have to be really careful what to name a baby because afterwards they’re stuck with it. My real name isn’t spelled the usual way most people know, and I am very tired of correcting their spelling all the time!

For a boy’s name I would say Fabian, Raymond, Cosmo, Albus, Charlie, Logan, Vinnie and Calvin. For a girl, Sam, Zoey, and Alexis.

Those are awesome names Roberta! But don’t forget that you need to let your parents pick out names too. You can tell them if you like just comare and contrast names. You’ll find one I proimse! c:

If Roberta really likes the name Rubella ( and her parents don’t) she could suggest naming her ( if it’s a girl, of course) these names that sound similar and nicer. Belle, ( my blue whale’s name) Isabel ,Isabella, Bella, Annabel, Clarabel, you know, stuff like that. The name Belle means ” beautiful” as well, and it sounds nice. :)

Of all the names on the list, I think that Rodanthe or Rochette are the nicest.

Well, you don’t even know it will be a girl! How about Robert, for a boy if that is what you have! Rachel is cute, though! ~Mamasallycat

why not Abigail ?I think that its bad to have really alike names because my friend’s name is Shianna and her mom’s name is Shila and my mom gets them mixed up ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!

If you truely like “RUBELLA” and your parents do not, how about a compromise and name her RHU BELLA? I saw someone on TV named RHU and thought it was a nice name. Lots of people (and pets) are named BELLA..My name is an Irish form of Elizabeth. I bet nobody is named Rhu Bella!!!
