Salley Cat: On the Way Home

Salley here. *sigh* Well, we’re on the bus, headed home. It seems like just yesterday that we got here! I am going to miss camp so much. We had the coolest cabin this year – Hailey totally redecorated it for us and it was so pretty!

All of our counselors were really easy going and fun – Ella was a C.I.T. this year and PJ taught us some awesome games. We made all sorts of cool crafts in Kimmy’s crafts cabin, and whenever you need someone to talk to you can always count on Amanda. Polly is lucky to have such a cool sister.

Speaking of Polly – it’s funny how much some people change over their time at camp. Like – when we first got here Polly was all down in the dumps. She really didn’t seem to even want to be here, but then after a few days she seemed to love it. I thought she’d be the first one to run on the bus when it was time to go home but she actually looked kind of sad to be leaving.

And Roberta surprised me too. She was so cool when it came to creeping us out with the most horrifying ghost story when we were having our campout, but when it came to joining in on Games Day, she totally wimped out! In the end she came around, but it’s funny how someone can be so brave about one thing but really intimidated by something else.

I’m going to miss getting to see my friends every day in the summer, but I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again – and having some of my mom’s cooking! (although I’m kind of going to miss Molly’s dad’s cooking after those amazing muffins he sent!) So I guess in a way it’s good to be going home – but now I can’t wait until next summer!
