Dear Mom and Dad,
Something REALLY bad has happened at camp – I sprained my flipper on our hike today. And now I can’t be in the talent show. Why not? Because, I was supposed to jump out behind a screen and surprise everyone as part of our routine. But not anymore. I can barely walk on my flipper, let alone JUMP on it.
I’m so upset – I really want to be in the talent show! My group says they can go on without me, but I really don’t think it’ll be as good. I just can’t believe my bad luck.
I think I’ll just stay in the cabin until this all blows over and my flipper heals. The nurse said to give it three days. It’ll almost be time to come home by then.
It’s so unfair.
