Wow! I don’t know who gave Ms. Stripes the brain transplant, but whoever it was, I owe them BIG TIME! Ms. Stripes has actually been really nice the past couple of days. When something happens in class she doesn’t immediately freak out and try to track down the culprit so she can punish them. Now she just says “Okay, settle down.” And we do! ‘Cause sometimes kids just get a bit silly and we just need to be reminded how to act, not sentenced to hard time.
A lot of students were having a hard time understanding our fractions assignment the other day and Ms. Stripes did the craziest thing ever – the next day, she brought in a pan of brownies she had baked, and we divided it up into half and then quarters and then eighths’ and then we used the brownies to try adding quarters and eighths! And then we got to eat them! Okay, first of all – that was AWESOME, and second, we totally understood the whole fraction thing by the end of the lesson!
I don’t know if this is going to keep up or if her body has just been taken over by aliens temporarily but I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Uh, lucky! I love brownies, but because of allergies, my teacher would never bring in brownies to teach fractions. She’d just explain it on the board, and if we didn’t get it, we’d stay in so she’d explain it personally. But for some reason, I miss the old Ms. Stripes, the one that was a little too tough. Cause too tough is better than not tough at all. ~*Star*~
Good for you!! Sounds like a nice change! Wish my teacher did that but noooo high school teachers don’t know how to have fun. I did it with some pizza year ago.

Great Spark! But thank Haley and Elwin -ms.Stripes has always been nice she just wanted the class to respect her. But Haley talked to her and ms.S REALLY didn’t feel herself being so strict.
