Well, this is just rotten. It’s Cowabelle here and I just found out that Roberta is not coming on the school trip! Can you believe it? And she’s not even upset about it! Her mom won tickets and a gift certificate to some big Baby Show that’s on that week and Roberta said she wants to go with her mom instead! Can you believe that? I think even her mother was shocked – she kept asking Roberta if she was sure, but Roberta is getting so excited about the new baby and she said could go to the Big City anytime but her mom’s not going to have a baby every day.
Whatever. So I decided that since Roberta wasn’t going to come I should room with Molly instead. So I called her to tell her that and she was kind of weird about it. So I asked if she didn’t want to room with me and she said it wasn’t that. She said that both Salley and Polly had already asked if she could share a room with them and she didn’t know who to choose. I said I had the perfect solution – Salley and Polly could share and Molly and I could share. But Molly said she wasn’t sure if that was fair since they had asked her first.
I can’t believe this. This school trip was supposed to be awesome and now everything is turning out badly!

Cowabelle, not everything in life is going to work out perfectly. In fact, most of the time it won’t. So what if Roberta isn’t coming? Her mother having a baby is important to her, and really, she does have a point, you can go to the Big City any day. If Salley and Polly want to share a room with Molly, than they will. I’m sure you can room with somebody else, or maybe you can all room together if that’s allowed. Well, have fun, OK Cowabelle? It’s not the end of the world. You’ll have a great time in the Big City. :)
Cowabelle is so selfish! It’s Roberta’s choice about the Big City, and Molly’s choice about rooming. What Molly said about Salley & Polly asking first is so true. She’s such a thoughtful girl about such things, really.
Why don’t the four of you just get together and talk it over? It doesn’t really matter who you’re with, since you’re all friends. And if Roberta doesn’t want to go, it’s her decision, not yours. Personally, I would probably rather stay home, too. The city is too big and crowded for my liking. I need my mountains and trees! Anyway, I’m sure Roberta doesn’t want you to be grumpy about it, and if she finds out I’m sure you’ll make her feel bad. Just go and have a good time, and you can tell her about it when you get back. Cowabelle, have you learned so little from all the lessons of this school year? This is just sad. Of course Roberta needs to follow her heart & participate in her family’s Big Event, even if it means that you won’t get your way. It’s very frustrating to watch you put yourself & everyone else thru this sort of thing again & again. Please stop putting yourself first & throwing fits, enough is enough!!!
You two should get together. Roberta has something bigger than the end-of-school trip that you guys are going on… and it’s that her mom is having a baby bunny! You two should contact each other, and Roberta, check with your room mates and your friends to see if it’s OK with them if you choose to not go. You can’t just admit before! That’s just ridiculous. It might hurt someone’s feelings. Otherwise, I wish you both good luck with whatever happens next!!!
