Happy Groundhog Day!
Well, howdy Webkinz! It’s my very favorite day of the year – Groundhog Day! Why is that? Because….I’m a Groundhog! And as a Groundhog, I think it’s only fitting that I teach you my very favorite poem. In fact, I wrote it! It’s called: “My Shadow.” February second is Groundhog Day, And something happens, so they say. Everyone comes and stands together, So a Groundhog may predict the weather! If the sky is cloudy or filled with rain, The answer, then, will be quite plain, If a groundhog’s shadow cannot be seen, Then soon the grass will be warm and green. BUT… If the sun is in the sky, And his shadow he can spy, He’ll wrinkle his nose and puff his cheeks, ‘Cause winter will last SIX MORE WEEKS! Did the Groundhog in your area see its shadow today? How much more winter do you have before spring arrives?
Groundhog Bookmark
Is there anything cuter than a little Groundhog sticking out of the top of your book, patiently holding your spot? We don’t think so! Now you can make a festive Groundhog bookmark for yourself – and one for a friend! What you need: Thick ribbon or cardstock, brown felt, tan felt, black felt, scissors, craft glue, black fabric paint or black thread What you do: 1. Cut a circle and an oval from the tan felt. This will be the Groundhog’s head and body. 2. Cut two oval shapes and four round paws (two in tan, two in brown). The ovals are the Groundhog’s front legs. Glue a round tan paw on the bottom of each. 3. Glue the legs onto the front of the Groundhog’s body (he’s sitting down). 4. Glue a round brown paw behind the Groundhog’s front legs. 5. Cut a triangle to fit on the Groundhog’s face. This will form the Groundhog’s nose patch. 6. Cut a small black triangle for a nose. 7. Cut out two black eyes. 8. Glue on the nose patch, nose and eyes. 9. If you have any fabric paint, add on whiskers. Otherwise, you can glue on six pieces of … Read more
Interview with a Blufadoodle
Hey friends! It’s me, Ella McWoof! I’m here with this month’s superstar, the Blufadoodle! Yup, this cool bird is February’s Pet of the Month – and I’m going to interview her! EM: So, first off welcome to your first interview! BF: Well, technically it’s not my FIRST interview, but thank you. EM: What do you mean? BF: Oh, Ella. You know. When you’re Pet of the Month, everyone wants to talk to you! You’re really, really popular! EM: Well, that brings us to our first question – what does it mean to you to be Pet of the Month? BF: It’s an honor. I was so happy when I found out about February being Blufadoodle month! I tried to think of a way to merge the two words together, but Blufabloduary doesn’t really work. EM: Er, no. How do you like this month’s song? Did you sing it? BF: I sure did! I had some help from other Webkinz, of course. But yes, I’m the one who sang the lead vocals. Being a bird, singing comes naturally. EM: I’m sure it’ll be another chart-topper. So many of the Pet of the Month songs are really, really popular. BF: Definitely. Another … Read more

Pink Greyhound Winners
Congratulations to Natalie, Ameriah, Patti, Sydney and Mizzy, our winners of the Pink Greyhound Contest. They've each been sent a Secret Code for an eStore exclusive Pink Greyhound virtual pet. We wanted to know what the Pink Greyhound's New Year's resolutions were. Read the winning entries below. I think that one of the Pink Greyhound's New Year's resolutions is to make some new friends. I also think one might be that the Pink Greyhound will team up with the Pink Hippo to help raise the awareness of breast cancer, since they are both pink and the cancer ribbon is pink. Another resolution is to fix up their new house in Kinzville so they can invite their new friends over. – Natalie I think that the Pink Greyhound's New Year's resolution is to learn, practice, and paint a masterpiece portrait of Fresco for his birthday. The Pink Greyhound is very persistent, so with some practice and perseverance, Fresco will have a wonderful portrait of himself from his best friend, the Pink Greyhound. – Ameriah I've been so excited for this year, I came up with these resolutions in August! The year is finally here so I'm going to make sure that … Read more
Ella Interviews Alyssa
Ella McWoof here, excited to introduce you to a good friend of mine – Alyssa! As you probably know, Alyssa is the Queen of the Good Fairies. She lives in the Magical Forest and she’s always interested in helping out and doing the right thing. I’ve got some great questions for her, so let’s see what she says! EM: Alyssa, I’m so glad you could join me here today! AGF: I’m so glad to be here, Ella. It was nice to fly into Kinzville for awhile. EM: You spend most of your time in the Magical Forest, right? AGF: Definitely. It’s where the Good Fairy magic is strongest. EM: It’s also where Nafaria lives. AGF: Yes, Nafaria never strays far from the forest. She’s the Queen of the Bad Fairies, after all. EM: How are you and Nafaria getting along these days? AGF: About the same as always. Nafaria likes to play her tricks, but I’ve got a whole lot of good fairy power behind me, so I’m not too concerned. EM: What kind of tricks does Nafaria play? AGF: Oh, trying to steal the Good Fairy powers…trying to take over the Magical Forest with bad magic. You know, that … Read more
