Cowabelle’s Other BFF

Dear Diary, I’m really concerned about a friend of mine – Dacey Bryn. Even though I don’t see her very often, I usually email her every other day and hear back from her right away. Well, I emailed her two weeks ago and I only heard back from her today! That’s longer than it’s ever taken before. And in her email, she was totally cold and distant – not friendly like she usually is. Here’s what I said in my email: Dear Dacey, I hope you’re having an amazing holiday! How is your latest movie going? I cannot wait to see it! My mom said that maybe we could arrange to meet up somewhere this summer, if your mom wants to. How much fun would that be, right? Maybe I could even come to stay at your house! I’m having a great holiday and I can’t wait for the new year. 2012 is going rock, especially if we can see each other! Let me know about your movie! Love, Cowabelle And here’s what her reply was: Hey C, Things are fine. Been busy with the movie. Not too much to … Read more
One Snowy Deed

Well, even though I didn’t get to help out at the soup kitchen yesterday, I did get to do a good deed today. I asked mom if she had heard from, Mr. Badgerly, our elderly neighbor. Mom said she hadn’t, and I suggested that we visit him to make sure he was OK. Mom was really happy to hear that. We got on our winter clothes and trudged over to Mr. B’s house and knocked on the door. After a few LONG minutes, he answered (he doesn’t move so fast these days). He invited us in for tea, but I said I had something to do first. I took the shovel that was next to his garage and shoveled his entire driveway. When I finally went inside, Mom and Mr. B were enjoying a cup of tea. Mr. B. asked what I had been doing, and I told him. His eyes got all misty and he thanked me about ten times! He made me a cup of tea and brought out these delicious biscuits. He said I could have as many as I wanted, but I only ate two (Mom would’ve freaked … Read more
Cowabelle’s Snowy Day

Dear Diary, Today was the craziest day ever! It all started with me and getting ready to head over to the soup kitchen (I’m volunteering there every Sunday afternoon). I peeked out the window and noticed it was snowing. The weatherman said we were going to get snow, so I wasn’t too surprised. I put on all my winter clothes and told Mom I was going to head out. She wasn’t very happy to hear that. She said that the snow had really piled up, and that the sidewalks were going to be slippery. I assured her that I’d be careful. I just HAD to get to the soup kitchen! As soon as I opened our front door, I started to question my decision. The wind was SO cold…and the snow! The snow was whipping from every direction. It was intense! I walked down our driveway, and got as far as the end of the block when I realized: I really couldn’t see anything. There was so much snow falling that I could barely make out the other side of the road. It was totally unsafe (I couldn’t really tell if a … Read more
Cowabelle and the Christmas Spirit

Hey everyone, Cowabelle here. OK, so first off, I think I ought to apologize. For what? For being wrong about what makes Christmas so special. Remember how I’ve been saying that it’s all about the presents? That all I want is…well…everything? I was so wrong. When I got home from school today, I had a HUGE fight with my mom. Mom basically told me that I was going to help her volunteer in the soup kitchen tonight, but I said “absolutely not!” I DID have plans. I was going to go back to the Curio Shop and show Sparky which rare theme I liked best. My mom FREAKED out and said that I’ve been spending every waking minute at a store or looking at catalogues and magazines, or talking about gifts or making my list. Which, now that I think about it, might be true. But at the time, I was mad. SO mad. I told my mom that I just wanted to have a good Christmas, and I was into the holiday spirit. She said that if I thought being greedy was part of the holiday, she felt bad … Read more
Cowabelle’s Letter to SantaKinz: No Stamps for You!

I am SO mad right now! So, remember how my list to SantaKinz was super-mega-long? Well, my mom had a super-mega fit when she saw it. She said I was being WAAAY too greedy, and that SantaKinz wouldn’t look favorably on a list that long. I told her that we’d let SantaKinz be the judge of that, but she refused to let me send it. Little does she know, I’m going to pick up some stamps with my allowance, so ha! Also, I was telling Roberta all about the gifts I thought she could get me this year (I picked some less expensive ones because she’s short on KinzCash) and she said – get this – that she’s MAKING all the gifts herself! Can you believe it?! Who does that? It’s so easy to just pop by the W Shop or the Curio Shop and get something. I’ve already got HER gift, and I definitely did NOT make it myself. I just feel like store-bought gifts are more special than something you make yourself. ANYONE can make a gift. To get something from the store, you have to save up. I … Read more
More Shopping with Cowabelle!

So I went into the Curio Shop today with my mom and Sparky was there working. I figured it would be as good a time as any to drop a few hints about what he could get me for Christmas, but he just seemed completely distracted. Every time I tried to subtly point out something super cool, he was looking past me at something else in the shop. Um, hello? How is he ever going to know what I really want if he doesn’t LISTEN? I mean, I’m only trying to help him out, you know? Imagine if he just had to figure out for himself what to get me for Christmas? What if he got me something I didn’t like? Ugh! I think I was being really thoughtful trying to give Sparky some inspiration and he clearly didn’t appreciate it. What could be more important than choosing the right gift for your friends anyway? I wonder what could have been such a big deal that he didn’t want to hear about what I wanted for Christmas.
Cowabelle’s Christmas List

Whew! What a LONG day of walking around. I’m going to need at least three cookies and two glasses of milk to recover! What have I been up to? Glad you asked! I went back to the W Shop today and found a few – OK, a LOT – more things for my list. It’s getting hard to remember everything I want to add to my list between the time I walk from the W Shop back to my house! My friends haven’t started their lists yet – which is too bad, because the sooner you write it, the sooner you can mail it. The sooner you mail it, the sooner SantaKinz gets it. And the sooner THAT happens, the sooner you get presents, presents, PRESENTS! I LOVE Christmas and I cannot wait until Christmas morning!
Cowabelle’s Christmas List

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – and I, for one, am TOTALLY EXCITED! It’s December 1, and you know what that means – it’s going to be the holidays soon, soon, SOON! Now, normally I’m a last minute kind of girl, but this year, I’m preparing well in advance. And by preparing, I mean ‘writing my Christmas list to SantaKinz!’ Oh, and for my friends, too! I don’t want them to wonder what I want this year. There’s nothing worse than getting awful Christmas gifts, am I right? There are about a billion things I’ve seen at the W Shop and KinzStyle Outlet and KinzStyle Shop and Wish Factory and Curio Shop that I really, really want. I’m trying to narrow it down a bit, but I figure SantaKinz will probably want to spoil me a bit this year – after all, I’ve been extra-good. So here, in no particular order, is my Christmas list (so far, with room for expansion – because you KNOW I’m going to find something else!) * Fancy Fountain* Magic Maiden Mirror* Webkinz Spa Robe* Fairy Princess Ball Gown* Glam Girl Coat* Bunny … Read more
Acorn Creatures
by Cowabelle When I was cleaning up the school yard today I was inspired to make these adorable little worms to sell at the fair with acorns I picked up off the ground! What you need: - 10 – 12 Acorns - Leaves - Peppercorns - Glue gun - An adult assistant to help with this craft What you do: Pop the caps off of the acorns, and reserve one or two to use as ‘caps’ for your creatures. With the help of your assistant, glue together a line of five or six acorns. Make the line slope up at one end to form the head and add peppercorn eyes to your creatures’ faces. Use an acorn cap or a leave to adorn your little creatures with head gear. These cute little creatures will make perfect reminders of our fabulous Fall Fair!
Cowabelle’s Hula Hoop Game
Cowabelle here with the easiest fair game EVER! All you need are some hula hoops and some participants! What you need: Hula hoops, participants (one per hoop) What you do: Have everyone get into hula-hooping position. Yell “Start!” and everyone should start hooping. As players drop their hoops, they’re out. The last player still spinning their hoop is the winner! If you have a group of hooping experts, you can always challenge them to go faster or slower and see if they can keep their hoops moving!
Cowabelle’s Cupcake

I was hoping to win Fluffington over with the cutest cupcake ever – and I think I’ve got a pretty great entry. Let me introduce you to… Quacky McDuckbeak! (OK, so maybe it’s a bit weird to give your cupcake a name…but look at how cute it is!) He was super easy to make! This is what you do: 1. Frost your cupcake with yellow frosting. 2. Put on two orange candy-coated chocolates for a beak. You’ll want to stick them IN to the cupake, so part of them sticks out. 3. Put on two orange candy-coated chocolates for feet. 4. Add two chocolate chips for eyes. Admire the simple cuteness of this duck-cake!
