Thanksgiving with Ella

Ella McWoof here, wanting to know how Thanksgiving celebrations are going in Kinzville! Let’s see who we run into as we walk around town! Ah, Ms. Birdy! How is your Thanksgiving going? Ms. B: Wonderfully, thank you! I’m having a big feast at my house with all of my family and friends. Dr. Quack and I are doing the cooking, so I’ve got to get home with this birdseed loaf! Oh, look! It’s Cowabelle. Cowabelle, what are you doing on this Thanksgiving Day? Cowabelle: I’m on my way to the soup kitchen to serve lunch. I’m super-excited to help out. After that, I’m heading home to have dinner with my mom…and then my friends are dropping by for dessert! Sounds wonderful! Ah, there’s Stoogles. He looks…a little…stuffed? Stoogles: *Burp* I just finished lunch at Nibbles’ house, and boy does that family know how to eat!  Did you know they have seven different types of pie? Blueberry, apple, cherry, pumpkin, lemon meringue, peach and pecan! I tried a piece of each…*burp*.  I’m on my way to the Curio Shop for my next dinner. Sparky said Arte got some food from Le Snout, so it ought to be delicious. *Burp*. Wow. Pace yourself … Read more

Ella Interviews Ms. Stripes

Ella McWoof here with a interview of one of Kinzville’s newest residents, Ms. Stripes. Ms. Stripes is a new teacher at the Kinzville Academy. Ms. Stripes, perhaps you’d like to start by telling us how you’re finding life in Kinzville. Ms. Stripes: Well, Ella, I’ll be honest – I got off to a little bit of a rocky start here. I think I was so concerned about being a good teacher that I came down a bit too hard on the kids and perhaps didn’t make the best first impression. Ella: Really? Well, that’s funny because recently I’ve been hearing really good things about you from the kids. I also heard that you hired some well-known elephants to help you get your house in order. Ms. Stripes: Oh, that’s true! You know, I have been saving up for years to buy a home and I wanted to make sure that when I did I had the KinzCash to do it up just the way I wanted. I had heard such great things about Hailey and Elwin and I must say they did not disappoint! I am just thrilled with my new home and Hailey and I have become quite friendly! … Read more

Ella Interviews Andy McWoof

Ella McWoof

Hey everyone! Ella here with a familiar face…familiar to me, anyway! It’s my dad, Andy McWoof! He’s the editor of the Webkinz Newz, and I definitely wanted to include him in my month of interviews.   Ella: Hi, Dad! Thanks for joining us! Andy McWoof: I’m glad to be here, dear. Everyone is really enjoying your month of interviews and I didn’t want to be left out of the fun! EM: Well, my first question is about how you managed to become the editor of the Webkinz Newz. I know the story, obviously, but none of our readers do. Care to fill them in? AM: Oh, you know I love to tell that story. It all started back when I was just a little pup in elementary school. I had a knack for writing and finding stories everywhere. In fact, when I was only seven, I started my own newspaper. I gave it out to my friends for free, but they were impressed. And so were my parents. They told me I had a bright future in writing or reporting. They were very encouraging. EM: When did you get your first real … Read more

Ella Interviews Crafty Kimmy

Ella McWoof: Today I have the pleasure of interviewing one of Kinzville’s most creative minds – Crafty Kimmy Koala. Kimmy, thanks so much for joining me! Crafty Kimmy: No problem, Ella! EM: So Kimmy, how did you get the ‘Crafty’ moniker? CK: Well, that’s an easy one: I LOVE making crafts! In fact, I’ve been crafting since I was just a kid. I started crafting with my grandma, and then I just continued as I grew up. EM: Is it true that you sometimes get paid to make your crafts? CK: Yes! One of my best clients is Chef Gazpacho. He loves to use my centerpieces at Le Snout. EM: What is your favorite kind of craft to make? CK: Believe it or not, I love making collages. I’ve started creating a scrapbook of my favorite collages. Kind of like a portfolio. EM: A portfolio? Why would you need one of those CK: For art school, of course! EM: Oh, wonderful! I’m sure you’ll get in with no problems. CK: Thanks! For now, I’m just having fun running Crafty Kimmy’s summer art camp. EM: And that’s going well? CK: Definitely – we’re doing crafts every single day and we’ve … Read more

Ella Interviews Goober

Ella McWoof: Today I’m here with Harold J. Hausenfeffer II, or as you probably know him, Kinzville’s foremost scientist, Goober. Goober: And I’m glad to be here, Emma! EM: Uh, it’s Ella. G: Sorry about that! I know your name, Erma! EM: ELLA. Anyway, Goober let’s start by having you tell our readers about what you’re working on in your lab these days. G: Oh, so many things! I’ve got five key experiments on the go right now. I’m trying to figure out a formula for un-sticky glue, a way to make invisible hats, a potion to make me taller, one to make me shorter, and (of course), I’m still trying to figure out Great-Great Grandma Hausenfeffer’s secret brownie recipe. EM: Brownie recipe? G: Yes. It’s delicious. And one day I shall recreate it. Great-Great Grandma Hausenfeffer never wrote anything down, so it’s all a huge tasty trial and error to figure out the correct ingredients. I’ve eaten so many pans of brownies. EM: Why would you want to make un-sticky glue? G: In case you glued something somewhere that it shouldn’t be. Then you could just un-stick it and move it somewhere else. EM: And an invisible hat? … Read more

Ella Interviews Hailey

Ella McWoof: Today I’m here with one of Kinzville’s most well-known designers: Hailey! Hailey: Oh, Ella! I don’t know if I’m THAT well known! Ella: According to my sources, you are! Hailey, you’ve been in the decorating biz for a few years now, am I correct? Hailey: Yes, my brother and I have both been running the Designer Elephants, our decorating business. We’re pretty happy about how popular it has become! Ella: I heard you’ve been hired by the likes of Fluffington St. Bernard – is that true? Hailey: You heard correctly! Fluffington is actually one of our best clients. And his great-aunt Meriwether, of course. Ella: What would you say has been the hardest job you’ve ever done? Hailey: Probably any job at Fluffington’s mansion. It’s just so immaculate – you want to make sure you don’t mess anything up! Ella: And what is your most favorite job? Hailey: It’s so hard to choose a favorite…but one job that sticks out in my mind was helping to redecorate Dr. Quack’s home office. It was an absolute mismatched mess when I first got there, but Elwin and I worked hard and came up with a design that really worked. And … Read more

Ella Interviews PJ Collie

Ella McWoof: Today, I am very happy to welcome my dear friend PJ Collie to the interview chair! PJ Collie: Hey Ell! So good to be here. EM: Well, PJ, it seems our readers really want to know all about you. So even though I already know the answer to most of these questions (because we’re BFFs and all), I’m happy to share you with the rest of Webkinz World! PJ: Awesome! EM: First of all, how are things at the KinzStyle Outlet? PJ: Pretty terrific. I really love working there. I’m always trying to come up with some new designs to feature in the shop. I love it when we get new clothes in for each season – keeping the KinzStyle Outlet fresh and fashionable is my number one priority! EM: How often do you see Persephone, the main designer of KinzStyle outfits? PJ: Persephone is always so busy arranging fashion shows and creating her wonderful designs. She stops by a few times a year, and we email and talk on the phone often. She likes to be involved from a distance. EM: When you’re not at the KinzStyle Outlet, what … Read more

What do you like to do for fun? DQ: I like to golf. I like to cook. I really like having friends over for dinner. I like having tea with my dear friend, Ms. Birdy. EM: You and Ms. Birdy have been friends for quite a long time, haven’t you? DQ: Oh, yes. Emily and I go way back. EM: Dr. Quack, not too many Webkinz know how you got started in the medical profession – can you fill us in? DQ: Well, to be honest…I thought I was going to be an engineer. Lots of ducks in my family are engineers, and I thought I should be one as well. But when I went to school and started learning about engineering, I realized: it just wasn’t for me. Interview with Chef Sophia

Today’s interview will be with Chef Sophia Soufflé, Webkinz World’s foremost dessert artisan! Ella McWoof: Chef Soufflé, thank you for joining us! Sophia Soufflé: Please, call me Sophia. EM: OK! Sophia, it’s commonly known that you had to work very hard to get to where you are today. Can you tell me a bit about that? SS: You’re right, Ella. I did have to work hard. I worked all through chef school. While other kids got to go home after a hard day at school, I went to the local restaurant and waited tables and did dishes. Over time, the head chef saw how passionate I was about food, and he let me start helping out in the kitchen. Pretty soon, I was a sous-chef, which is the chef who assists the head chef. EM: You must have been very proud to become the sous-chef at such a young age. SS: I was. I worked hard for it, and I was proud of myself. Not as proud as my parents were, I’m sure. They told everyone they knew about what their daughter was doing. They’d come to eat at the restaurant every time they were in town. EM: While … Read more

Everyone in Kinzville who enjoys traveling knows the subject of today’s interview. Debbie Dragon has been sending residents of Kinzville to exotic locales for years. Today we’re going to find out more about Debbie’s travels as well as her other passions. Debbie Dragon: Hi Ella! I just want to say that I am so honored that your readers wanted to hear more about me! EM: I think what we all really want to know is how your passion for travel began. DD: You know, I have always been an avid reader, ever since I was a kid. And some of my favorite stories are those that involve adventures in far off locations. As a young woman I was thrilled to read about some of Arte Fact’s exciting feats and that spurred me to travel myself. EM: Can you tell us about some of those early travels? DD: Well, not many in Webkinz World know this, but one of my very first jobs was working as a deckhand on Captain Patches’ ship. EM: No! DD: Yes, … Read more

It’s been a long while since anyone asked to interview me about anything! Ella: I find that hard to believe. After all, you’ve had quite an exciting career! AF: I have, it’s true. Even though I’ve settled down somewhat, I do occasionally miss those old days of crazy adventure. EM: What was your craziest adventure? AF: I have to pick just one? That’s impossible! They were all quite outstanding. The time I went to the top of Mount ‘Kinz…the time I discovered the gem mines…meeting the Azure Zingoz…it was all fantastic. EM: A lot of folks have wanted to know: are you still in touch with Matilda? AF: Matilda Monkey? Why, yes. She and I email each other at least once a week. She’s teaching right now, in West Webkinz World. She’s a beloved professor, and I’m so proud of her. She’s extremely talented. I attended one of her lectures once – her students just adore her. Fred Rover: I’m delighted to be here, Ella. Just delighted. EM: Wonderful! Well, Fred, as you may have heard, the fans wanted to know all about you. FR: I’m hardly surprised, Ella. I’m a very interesting individual, if I do say so myself. And I do! EM: So Fred, we know you’re the events-caster at the Webkinz Stadium. What’s the best part and the worst part of your job? FR: The worst part (for me, anyway) is when events drag on for a long time. I have to wait to start talking again. Sometimes waiting is downright painful! The best part? Watching myself in reruns, of course! EM: What made you interested in being an events-caster? FR: Well, when I was a young pup, I had trouble with losing. I wanted to win EVERY event or sport I entered. I realized, though, that winning isn’t everything. It’s important just to play for the fun of it. Ella interview 1: Ms. Cowoline

Ella McWoof: All the pupils at Kinzville Academy just love their principal, Ms. Cowoline. I’m here with Ms. Cowoline to learn more about her love of education, her role in the Kinzville community and her home life with her charming daughter, Cowabelle. Ms. Cowoline: Why, thank you, Ella! When you put it like that you make me sound so grand! I’m just a simple teacher in a small town. Ella: No, Ms. Cowoline, you are certainly more than that! You are the heart of one of the most beloved institutions in Kinzville. Can you tell us how you got your start teaching? Ms. Cowoline: Well, Ella, I came from a very large family, and being the oldest child I just seemed to gravitate naturally toward instructing my younger siblings. Whether it was teaching them to tie their shoes, ride a bike or make a sandwich, I truly enjoyed guidance and felt such a feeling of accomplishment when I saw them grasp a new concept. Ella McWoof: Is there any aspect of teaching you DON’T enjoy? Ms. Cowoline: To be honest – and I’m sure the children will disagree with me on this one – my least favorite part of teaching … Read more
