Warm Fuzzies
Valentine’s Day is coming up and Millie needed something cute to give to her friends in kindergarten. After going through our art box, we figured out how to make some adorable warm fuzzies! You can make some of your own – they’re really easy! What you need: Pompoms, sticky-backed felt, craft glue, wiggle eyes, pipe cleaner (cut into thirds), strips of paper, black marker What you do: Stick the pipe cleaner piece through your pompom. Cut out a heart shape from your sticky-backed felt. Leave the paper on the sticky part. Glue the pompom to the fuzzy part of the heart. The sticker part should be facing downwards. Glue the wiggle eyes onto your pompom. On the strip of paper, write a Valentine’s message. Glue the paper to your fuzzy’s ‘hands’ (the pipe cleaner). When all the glue is dry, give your warm fuzzy to a friend. They can stick it on a desk or paper (or anywhere, really) by peeling the sticker paper off the sticky part of the felt.
Millie’s Snow Pig

My friend Molly’s little sister, Millie, wanted to appear in the Newz, so she decided to call me on the phone this morning. She said she had “breaking news” and that if I wanted to be a good reporter I should come over to her place. So I did. And guess what I saw? A cute little snow pig with pink cheeks! Millie made this ice sculpture and then used a plant misting bottle with water colored red with food coloring to add the pink cheeks! She just sprayed on the red water and voila – adorable! I’m not entirely sure this is ‘newsworthy,’ but it definitely is cute!
Molly’s Room: Birthday Redesign

Hailey and Elwin here with another awesome room redesign! Molly Pig just celebrated her birthday and her parents were really excited to be able to give her bedroom a total makeover. They hired us and we sat down with Molly to discuss what she’d like in her room. This is the before: Molly said that she had tried several different themes, but didn’t really like any of them. That’s why there’s so much going on in this room. The sleeping bag is from a sleepover she had a few days ago. The chairs and microphone are where her friends like to visit and sing. Her desk is MUCH too small, and Molly says she has trouble getting her homework done. Elwin and I talked to her about what kinds of things she liked. One thing kept coming up over and over: Molly LOVES color. As many different colors as possible, actually. She couldn’t really nail down a favorite color. So, with that in mind, Elwin and I set out to make the most colorful room we could! This is what we came up with! … Read more
Molly’s Birthday: Part 3

Dear Diary, Well, remember how I said this was the worst birthday ever? Well, things have changed! After mom got Millie more or less cleaned up, she stopped in my room and gave me a whole bunch of KinzCash. I asked what it was for, and she said it was to take my friends out for dinner at Le Snout – and dessert at La Soufflé. I couldn’t believe it! She said some of the KinzCash was from her and dad, and the rest was some my grandma sent for a gift. She was going to make me save it all, but she figured I really deserved a good time after what Millie put me through. So I ran downstairs and told my friends. They were super-excited. We got our jackets on and were just about to leave, when Millie came down the stairs wearing a bathrobe. When she saw us leaving, she lost it. She cried and threw the biggest tantrum ever. I thought Mom might make us take her with us, but instead, Mom frowned, picked Millie up and marched her over to the uncooperative chair. Awesome! My … Read more
Molly’s Birthday: Part 2

Dear Diary, I can’t believe what a terrible birthday this is. Millie is ruining everything! She wrecked the balloons, she interrupted our games and movie, she spit chips back into the snack bowls…and she sent the pizza guy on his way. I can’t believe it! I’m so embarrassed and angry. I just want her to go live at someone else’s house. There’s a knock at my door. It must be my mom. I’ll be right back. Well, guess what? It wasn’t mom. It was Roberta and Cowabelle. They said that I should come back downstairs for cake. I was about to go with them (hey, I love cake), when my mom came running up the stairs. “Don’t come downstairs,” she said. I was about to ask why, when someone else ran up the stairs. Millie. Covered from head to toe in chocolate cake. “I got hungry!” Millie said, her face covered in sticky icing. “I told you to stay downstairs!” Mom hollered. “Get into the bathroom and get ready for a bath!”Millie started to pull off her shirt and get undressed right there, but thankfully mom grabbed her and I heard … Read more
Molly’s Tough Day

Know how I’ve been having trouble keeping my New Year’s resolution to be nicer to Millie? Well, I think I did a pretty amazing job today, I must say. What happened? So glad you asked! I was getting prepared for my birthday party tomorrow. I’ve been begging mom to let me have it at Le Snout (with La Soufflé for dessert), but she thinks it’s ‘more special’ to have it at home. But Millie is at home, making everything a bazillion times harder than it has to be. Anyway, I was blowing up balloons and taping them to the walls in our basement. I had a huge pile on the floor in the rec room – a huge pile which took forever to blow up, I might just add. Everything was looking pretty good when Mom called me up to the kitchen to check out my birthday cake (chocolate with chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles – my favorite!) and we got to talking about what I want to do at the party (pizza, movies, games – nothing too fancy). We were just about to start discussing prizes for the games, when we … Read more
Molly’s Birthday Present

Salley Cat here, with a bit of a problem. Molly’s birthday is on the weekend, and we’re trying to figure out what to get her as a gift. Molly isn’t the easiest pig to buy for, but here are the ideas the ‘Kinz came up with: Stoogles: A lock for her bedroom door. Millie drives her nuts – trust me, she’ll appreciate this. Sparky: A skateboard! Or maybe a game! That’s what I’d want.Nibbles: I have no idea! I’m working on my film!Roberta: I’ve already got an idea. It’s just from me, though. So…good luck to everyone else!Cowabelle: A new sweater. You can’t go wrong with fashion. Alex: A lucky rock? I don’t know. I’m not good at present ideas. So that’s where we’re at. Everyone is willing to contribute about ten KinzCash (except Roberta, who apparently has some great idea of her own). That means we’ve got 60 KinzCash to spend. What do you think we should get Molly for 60 KinzCash?
Millie Pig: Hurricane on Wheels

Sometimes I think Salley, Roberta, Cowabelle, Sparky and Alex are the luckiest kids around. Why? Because they don’t have siblings! Nibbles is lucky because she has an older sister, and Stoogles likes all of his brothers and sisters, so I guess he’s lucky too. Or maybe I’m just UN-lucky. Because of Millie. The hurricane on wheels. See, Santakinz thought it would be a great idea to get Millie roller skates. I wish I had been awake when the jolly old elf was dropping off gifts, because I would’ve begged him to take the skates back to the North Pole with him. Since it’s snowy outside, Millie has been skating around the house. She’s not really supposed to, but mom is just happy that she’s enjoying her present – and she said that as long as she stays in the basement, she shouldn’t be able to do too much damage. Well. Tell that to my ruined art project. I’ve been working on my art project for three weeks. It was a little model of my house and yard. I thought it was really, really cute. I was just about done (I just had to … Read more
Baking with Grandma

This week has turned out pretty well after all, ever since my aunt showed up with my new little cousin, Holly. I feel kind of bad though because I had promised to make cookies with Millie and I’ve just been really busy. But today our grandma announced that it was baking day and that she and Millie and I would be busy all day, making yummy treats for the family. Grandma pulled this long list of cookies and cupcakes out of the pocket of her apron. She said first things first and so we all piled into the car and headed over to the W Shop to pick up all the supplies we would need for our goodies. I kind of missed being with little Holly, but when we got to the W Shop Millie and I played a great game. She sat in the seat of the shopping cart and said that she was one of Santakinz’s helpers and that I was a reindeer who had to make the cart go. Then we had to travel around the ‘workshop’ (or W Shop,) collecting parcels to deliver on Christmas Eve. It was such … Read more
Molly and Holly

Okay, I know I’ve been doing a lot of complaining about my cousins lately. (Sorry about that, by the way.) But today I met another cousin for the very first time and you know what? I think I’m going to like this one just fine. My Aunt Maria arrived today and she brought along a very special package. It was my brand new baby cousin, Holly! She is absolutely adorable! Aunt Maria let me hold her and she is so tiny and pink! At first she was sleeping and Aunt Maria said not to feel bad if she started crying when she woke up. She said babies do that. But after a little while, Holly opened her eyes and guess what? She gave me a huge smile! Aunt Maria said she must really like me! Then Aunt Maria said that she had to go into the kitchen and start working on her famous chocolate pecan pie because we were going to have that for dessert. And then she asked if I wouldn’t mind babysitting Holly for her while she baked. Oh my gosh! That is a pretty big responsibility, you know, but … Read more
Molly’s Family Christmas: Cousin Trouble

I can’t believe this! I was out gift shopping at the W Shop with Cowabelle and when I got home I went up to my room to hide the present I got for Millie. As I was walking up the stairs I was sure that I could hear some giggling from somewhere nearby, but there is so much chaos in this crazy house right now I didn’t think anything of it. Then I walked into my room and I couldn’t believe what I saw. I looked up and at the same moment saw another awful caricature of me scribbled all over my wall, I heard peals of laughter coming from the doorway. I spun around and there were Bobby and Robby standing there, doubled over laughing, with a couple of markers in their hands. And the worst part? Millie was peeking around the doorjamb, trying not to giggle. How can this be happening to me? I thought Christmas was supposed to be a happy time!
Molly’s Family Fun Time
The day has come. My family is here. All twenty-three of them. My aunt and her new baby are coming in a few days (they’re smart. If it was me, I’d show up on Christmas Eve and leave on Boxing Day). Then it will be twenty-five. Twenty-five relatives. In my house. Non-stop. As I suspected, Robby and Bobby (my twin cousins who are total pains) arrived with plans to make my life miserable. They hadn’t been there for more than ten minutes when they started sticking paper moustaches all over every single picture of me in the house. My little cousin threw up all over my mom’s rug. My aunt said he was still a bit carsick. My grandpa ate the chocolate bar I’d been saving. My grandma told me I’m slouching. My great-aunt pinched my cheek so hard it still hurts. Millie seems to be holding up better than I am. A lot of our relatives brought her little gifts. Did they bring me anything? No, because I’m the oldest. I have to be mature and set the example for everyone else. Sometimes I think it would be amazing to be … Read more
Molly and Millie Move Out
Okay, so far so good. Millie and I have just finished dragging our sleeping bags and pillows up to the treehouse. You know, there’s more space in here than I thought. With both of our beds set up there’s still a little room to move around. I’ve got a pile of books and some paper, and Millie even grabbed a small twig from the ground and she propped it up in the corner of the treehouse and decorated it with some tinsel and stuck a tin foil star on top. Millie is pretty happy – she’s got all her stuffed toys tucked into her sleeping bag right now – but she does keep asking me why we moved out again. I know she doesn’t really get it. Millie gets along really well with our cousins so she can’t figure out why I don’t want them all staying here this Christmas. But why would I want about a million little kids running around, drawing ugly pictures of me on my bedroom wall? Oh, Millie. Someday you’ll understand. Anyway, it’s really starting to shape up in – uh oh. I think that’s my mom calling … Read more
Molly Visits Roberta

I went to visit my friend Roberta yesterday, and I have to say – I’m glad I did. Not only did I escape the insane clean-a-thon that’s happening at my house (in preparation for my relatives’ arrival), but I also managed to cheer Roberta up. When I arrived, Roberta was sitting in front of the TV, just looking really…well, kind of bored and angry. I’m not sure what emotion that is. But that’s definitely how she looked. Roberta told me that she had seen Cowabelle earlier, and when Cowabelle heard what Roberta was doing for Christmas (making all the gifts by hand), she told her that was a terrible idea, and that no one wants handmade gifts. I couldn’t believe Cowabelle! She was so mean to her best friend. I don’t think she realized how much she hurt Roberta’s feelings. I told Roberta that I’d be thrilled to get a gift from her, particularly one she made herself. Roberta was surprised. She said that after talking to Cowabelle, she figured everyone would dislike her homemade gifts. I assured her that we’d all love them. Roberta seemed much happier by the … Read more
