Yes, you are right, they are father and daughter. I was traveling through southeastern Iowa last summer and saw the sign pointing to the small town of Eldon, Iowa – home of the American Gothic house – it’s the shape and style of the window (there’s a matching one in back) that gives it that name. My husband and I posed in front of the house – it was pretty cool, but I didn’t have my pitchfork with me.
I can’t wait for the painting! They’re my favorite things to collect!
Love the mermaid and the painting, not too excited about the cement truck. Hate to see the wishing well and stone lion go. Don’t really understand why items “have” to be retired? There is room for the items to stay in the Wish Factory. Please reconsider leaving the wishing well and the stone lion in the Wish Factory!

Good to know, I’ll hold off adopting pets until after the 23rd, in hopes of something new. As for the Wish Factory, I’ve been saving tokens for years to get to 300 and I’m almost there. That flowing ribbons bed has been calling to me forever. But this painting belongs in my museum, and the mermaid statue, and…too many choices. Very nice new items.

That antique wishing well never did anything unlike the retired wishing well that was animated. Not sad to see that one go! The mermaid statue looks cute, I will pick one up when it’s released.

I have at least one of each, both are which indoors at the moment lol. These two cool items have been around ten years at least though.
