I am not a fan of the new style especially the glitter eyes and wish it still had the w on the bottom of their feet. It was their signature thing. Also not very happy with the price.. a bit expensive, but I love Webkinz and will support them no matter what. Just my thoughts.

Just logged in after a while. This is… kinda disappointing. My whole appeal for Webkinz started because the animals were realistic, had proper proportions, and had been made in obscure yet recognizable species and breeds. These guys have remarkably massive heads and eyes, and the trend of Glitter. Not only is glitter Not Pretty but, I don’t know why, staring at it for just a bit makes my eyes water. They’re really feminine. The game is also… strange.. I’ve never liked 3D games (especially 3D children’s games, something with minimalist art and graphics but three dimensional models has a sort of Unsettling Aura). Also the quote that you “will continue to support the game with new items, pets, and events for as long as it has an audience,” kinda freaks me out. One day I might wake up and all my pets are replaced by this Big-Brain-Time plush. I was really hoping for you to keep everything realistic, with your unique Webkinz-esque style. But now I’ll have to settle. I feel I must list your efforts with the game and plush run, or I’ll feel awful. I still appreciate all your guys efforts to keep classic Webkinz updates practically omnipresent and making a new game for the new audience. The plush run was really amazing. I genuinely really hope others get to enjoy this redesign. But I just don’t think I will.

I’m not sure if anyone is still checking this page for opinions on buying the plush, but I ordered the golden retriever about a week ago and it came in yesterday. I’ll start with the cons first. The head is a bit grossly oversized IMHO. It would look better with a smaller head. Honestly I’m having trouble seeing any other problems with the plush besides the fact it looks Beanie Boo-esque. Pros: it is surprisingly cute!!! He (I named him Steve) looks puppylike even though it’s not called “pup” like a lot of newer Classic dogs. The fur on the ears and chest are really soft, and decently soft everywhere else. The quality is good, it looks like it’ll hold up well to wear (although I’m not rough with my plushies). IT IS WAY BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. Larger than a Beanie Boo for sure! The gold paw is weird at first but it grew on me. Overall, I do like it. I probably won’t buy anymore unless it’s a dog breed I really love (one because they’re expensive and two because I don’t have room).

Hi Ganz, I was wondering where I could find some Webkinz Classic plushies? I wanted to ask for some for christmas, but I can’t find some reasonably priced ones anywhere. All I can find are super expensive ones. Did they become discontinued? Is that why when I click on “Buy Plushies” in the W shop they say it is out of stock? Anyways, all I wished to say was I hope the Webkinz classic plushies come back (from wherever they are) soon. Sincerely, Ruby09 (username is the same in Webkinz world)

Hi @Ruby09. I wish that I had better newz for you, but sadly, yes the original style beloved Webkinz classic plushies were discontinued. I think it’s been almost 2 years, so that’s why you can only find them at a high price from indidual sellers/collectors. They are sorely missed, but definitely not forgotten by those in the community who have been around for a while. My family used to get them for me for holiday gifts too. We don’t have Windows 10 on our family computer, so I can’t play the new Webkinz game, so we won’t be getting any of the new gen Webkinz plushies, at least for now. Maybe we will upgrade our computer. And maybe, in time, the new plush will grow on me, and maybe, and most importantly, the price will come down and then I’ll give it some consideration. Again, I’m so sorry that I don’t have better newz.

I just now checked Amazon; just type in “webkinz with unused codes”. The first page showed Webkinz Classic plush pets reasonably priced, most under $20. But pay attention b/c there were also other brand plushes (not Webkinz!) thrown into the mix. ;)

Sorry, I just don’t like the new designs, and they’re definitely not an improvement. My kids and I have always loved classic Webkinz for their special style. I didn’t like it when Ty came out with its new Beanie Baby designs (I think they’re called Beanie Boos) with the weird sparkly eyes that are too big for the toy’s face, and now you’ve got the same weird eyes for Webkinz. It’s sad, really. My kids used to beg for Webkinz plushies for Christmas and birthdays every year, but I know they won’t want these.

Hooray for plushies! My kids grew up playing Webkinz and even now as teens are super excited for the new plush. I ordered 3 for Christmas! We think they are adorable.

I really am shocked by the fact that the whole point of “new” Webkinz was to cater to the younger/new generation when in fact the game design and these plush look more outdated than the original! My husband and I are both in the tech industry & are truly shocked by the new design. My little cousins (7 and under) LOVE the original Webkinz I recently introduced them to! I do not see, in any way, how the new game would cater to a younger generation. The graphics on the original are a million times better than the new / 3D look. 3D is very outdated as many have already stated. Hoping Ganz listens to all of it’s players who are CREATING the next generation and are passing Webkinz down!

can y’all chill out in the comments here? no need to be toxic over a children’s game. y’all are pressed over literal stuffed animals, take a seat and relax. if you don’t like them, don’t buy them. it’s really simple

Have to say I’m a little disappointed. Just received my new unicorn plush in the mail this morning. However, the Webkinz Classic code that I received in the box is not working. I already contacted customer service by email, but have to wait to here back from someone. If this would have been a Christmas gift it would have been very disappointing. The price of the plush was too expensive to have these type of problems.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

As it states on Ganz eStore’s page: “*Webkinz Classic code will be sent separately. Virtual pet available to adopt December 16, 2020.” You will be able to use the Webkinz Classic code after maintenance on December 16.

      • barbiegirl316 says:

Thank you for the clarification. I miss read what was on the estore. I thought it had ment that you could buy a virtual pet from the estore on December 16th, not that you had to wait and register it until then. Thank you for the clarification.

Yeah, my daughter and I are not impressed with the new plush toys. The two that are currently available are so obviously made from the same base pattern, then made to resemble the animal they are supposed to be. The unicorn in particular is, frankly, ugly. I’m sorry to be harsh. However, when my daughter, a person with special needs, noticed immediately that they are the same basic body, just accessorized to appear like a specific animal, something’s not right. She shook her head and simply said, “I don’t want these, Mom. I don’t like them at all.” JUST WOW. I was very relieved, because $30 is, in my opinion, highly over-priced. Based on the images posted, it appears Ganz decided to go the cheap route and make a standardized toy which has different things added to make it resemble what it’s supposed to be–like adding “hooves”, a mane, and a horn for the unicorn. Neither plush toy actually looks like the animal it is supposed to represent. They seem to be “dumbed down” versions and definitely not up to the standard of the prior plush toys. Quite a disappointment and unexpected from you, Ganz.

      I agree.

    • Nkavanaugh2604 says:

that’s a good observation your daughter made, actually. i make stuffed animals myself (webkinz really influenced me that much as a kid, to be something that inspired me to take up making stuffed animals!) and by observation these appear to use similar base sewing patterns. and, like she said, accessorized to look like separate animals. i can’t really say whether they’re exactly the same through pictures, though. i’d get them to compare the two but unfortunately i can’t really even justify the price of one right now
