Important Update!

As part of an upcoming General Data Protection Regulation that was recently passed by the European Union, we have added a way for our players to easily delete their Webkinz accounts. This was added to ensure the privacy of our players and to continue our commitment to provide a safe and secure place to play online. Note that once an account has been deleted, it will be permanent deleted and players will not have the option to recover any items, pets or currency associated to their account.

To delete your Webkinz account please complete the following steps:

  1. Log into your Webkinz account at Webkinz.com or from the Webkinz mobile app.
  2. Access the Options menu in the top right of the interface, or from the THINGS TO DO menu on the mobile app
  3. Click on the Delete Account option.
  4. You will be prompted to re-enter your password to confirm your decision
  5. You will be given one last chance to cancel or confirm your decision
  6. Once confirmed, you will be logged out and your account will be deleted.

Again, this decision is permanent and cannot be reversed once completed.

Thanks.

I know something that might be better. Exactly this, but if your account is no longer recognized one day, you can email customer support and they’ll send you a test of security checks and stuff and if you pass, you’re granted your account back, but you’re prompted to make a new password.

Who would WANT to delete their account?!

      Hackers :(((((((

As a ‘rite of passage’ my Granddaughter gave up her Webkinz account. I was quite sad about her decision and even tried to retrieve it. Her decision was final and I have to respect it. It is really one’s own decision. She wasn’t angry or fed-up. She actually enjoyed the time she spent on Webkinz. I told her I would hold the account for her, but she said, ‘No, I think if I have kids they should learn how to build their own accounts from the ground up like I did.’ And that I get, too! She worked very hard and had her pets named especially for her friends and other special times in her life. If she passed it on to any child it wouldn’t ever truly be theirs. So, I let it go. :)

It is scary to think about if someone got hacked, and there account was deleted it would be permanent. It’s easier to delete an account, and it helps the law, so I will try not to worry.

I am not happy that this feature is right there in your options…any smaller child could easily delete their account….and then it is just gone.

    • DragonsLair1976 says:

I complete agree with you and other members about how horrible this update is. It would be way too easy for a young child to accidentally delete their account. I can imagine how devastated my child would be if she were to lose everything simply because she didn’t understand what she was agreeing to. Scary. :(

In the newer Pokémon games, you have to unlock it via a series of buttons so people can’t easily delete your account.

Why is everyone freaking out? Nothing has changed. You could always delete your account, it’s just now easier to do, to comply with international law. I’m not worried.

    • barkopinko1916 says:

media stereotypes about how powerful hackers are and you get these people jumping to conclusions out of nowhere it happens

      • Beaglehounds says:

Anything online can get hacked. This was always a possibility & still is. I don’t see how the change makes a difference in account security one way or the other.

        • barkopinko1916 says:

the amount of hackers interested in this site would be extremely minimal. and if you leave traces everywhere as to what your account information is, then that’s your own fault for not being protective enough.

    • AUNT09 says:

If you were friends with someone is the past, that aren’t friends with now, and they still know your users name, could they type that in on there option and delete your account ?

      • Sally Webkinz says:

This Delete button deletes the account you are logged in as, not something you type in.

      • dixiecup says:

You can change your password to something that you ‘friend’ does not know. Make your password something that you would never be associated with and make it tough to break. Like if you love Reading make your password something to do with like say … wrestling. Add a couple of random numbers and Voila, you have a new password! For example PoohBear could be changed to P0048e@r and never let someone else have your password.

  9. Itswebkinztime says:

It’s scary to think if someone somehow got your password they could easily delete your account with just a few clicks. I’ve spent so much money on this website. It would be horrible if something happened to my account. I wish this was a little safer.

Is there a way to change your password without emailing Ganz? People may need to change their passwords, with this new scary feature.
