What are Pet Medallions?

Pet Medallions are a new form of currency in Webkinz World. Each Medallion is pet-specific. When you collect enough of a particular Pet Medallion, you can trade them in to adopt that virtual pet – for FREE! There are also special ‘AnyPet’ Medallions, which act like a wild card and can be used toward any pet.

How do you get Pet Medallions?

You can earn Pet Medallions a couple of ways. Look for the red gift box icon in the Arcade to see which games offer Medallions and when you play one of those games, you have a chance of winning a prize which might be a Medallion! You can win up to 10 prizes per day in the Arcade. And you can earn one ‘AnyPet’ Medallion by trading 10 Pet Medallions of any one pet. Look for more ways to earn Pet Medallions in the future!

Where can you find your Pet Medallions?

Pet Medallions don’t appear in your Dock but it’s easy to see how many you’ve collected. Just open your ‘My Pets’ window and you’ll find a new tab called ‘Medallions’. Medallion pets appear here, along with a meter showing how many Medallions you have collected toward each pet, as well as the total number of Medallions required for each. You can click on each pet for information about its PSI and PSF.

How do you adopt a pet using Medallions?

When you’ve earned enough Medallions to adopt a pet, the meter beneath that pet will change to an ‘Adopt’ button. Just click the button and you will be taken to the Adoption Center and complete the adoption process as you would for any Webkinz pet.

Pet Medallions!

Are Pets adopted using Medallions the same as regular Webkinz Pets?

Just like any Webkinz pet, a Medallion pet comes with its own Pet-Specific Item and Pet-Specific Food, and it behaves like any other pet in Webkinz World. It makes Pet Requests and has Happiness, Hunger, and Energy meters that need to be filled to help increase your Family Score. The only difference is that pets purchased using Medallions do not extend your Full Membership.

Which Pets can you adopt using Pet Medallions?

There are currently twelve pets which can be adopted using Pet Medallions, including two brand new pets that can only be adopted using Medallions! Each pet has a unique Medallion value – the rarer the pet, the more Medallions you’ll need. The pets are:

  • American Golden

Just realized, to get the pet you want, you trade 10 other tokens, for 1 of the pet you want. I won’t live long enough to get the pet I want. Give this some more thought. Are these pets made of gold, which really doesn’t matter, You get nothing, This wedkinz land.

I know it is impossible, but I’d like a Pet Medalion Traiding Room.

This was so exciting. And, had it been left with just the 2 new medallion pets, it might have worked. But when 10 more pets were added, then the chances of getting enough medallions for a specific pet just seems unreal. Kind of a let down :-(

i like the idea of this, but i agree with what everyone else is saying in the fact that the chances of winning one of these medallions is very low. i played atlantiles for hours the other day, scoring the highest i ever have, and all i received was a gift box containing 50 kc. i think medallion giftboxes should be awarded after a certain amount of points have been accumulated per game, rather than playing so hard and long and getting nothing in return.

I have been doing really well on jumble berry last and just got to level 27 and nothing. No games I play I get a medallion. There should be a set score or level that has to be reached.

Good idea but to time consuming ,to many tokens needed, most will loose interest. And I don’t want my Grandchildren spending that much time on a game, on the computer.

will there be more pets coming out? I’m just curious because there have been some Webkinz that didn’t come with a code, like my lil’kinz white poodle, pig, signature gorilla and signature deer, that I really want online. There are so many other that I got without codes but the two signatures, white poodle and pig are ones that I’d really like online

    • gml1939 says:

If there was no code (tag) with the pet, it probably is because someone took it off at the store (not the clerk). That happened to me once. I did not notice it until i got home with the pet. The store would not do anything about it. I learned to be very sure the pet had its tag still attached before i bought it!

well i would like to know if we adopt a pet by medallions, will we need a bed for that pet to sleep. like we did for hamsters?

Well, I have built the tree house in crafty canaries a few times today and yesterday. Not one medallion. Finished a course on polar plunge – got a trophy but no medallion. Played to level 7 on antlantiles a few times and nothing. This is a great new idea, but extremely frustrating when it does not work properly. Two days of this. New high scores and new trophies, but no prizes or medallions.
