We are excited to announce a new gallery in the GanzWorld Share Center.
What do we mean when we refer to the homepage? It’s the picture that appears on the homepage of webkinz.com, where you are invited to log in, like this one:
When we held our last homepage design contest for the Adventure Park homepage, we received so many great designs that we wished we could have used lots of them. Which gave us a great idea!
We are creating a new gallery in the Share Center where players can upload their ideas for a homepage design. If we select a design to feature on the Webkinz homepage, we will contact the designer at the email address associated with their GanzWorld account to request a high-resolution image of their design. The image may be featured on the Webkinz homepage for an indeterminate amount of time and will include a credit with the designer’s username. If a submission is used on our homepage, the designer will receive a special new trophy in Webkinz World – the Creative Design Certificate, a virtual item that you can hang in your pet’s room.
Please note: this is NOT a contest. This a new, ongoing open gallery where players can submit their designs at any time.
Here are some important things you need to remember…
- You can enter as many designs as you want!
- If you would like to enter a seasonal design, i.e. holidays or special events, make sure you submit your design well in advance. For example, Halloween designs should be submitted by the end of August at the latest. Christmas designs should be submitted by the end of October at the latest.
- The approximate dimensions of the image are 11” x 5.5” or 1400 x 800 pixels BUT the image must be saved at a smaller size for uploading to the gallery. If your image is selected you will be asked to supply a high quality scan of the original image at a larger size. In order to reproduce it at a high quality on our site: You MUST be able to provide us with a high quality scan of the original full size via email upon notification of winning. We cannot use the smaller sized upload version.
- Some content will be covered by ads and by the Webkinz logo and ‘Play’ button. While there must be some content in those areas – don’t leave it blank – just keep in mind that it may be covered so try not to put important content there. We have provided a template below but please note that this template is intended to be used only as a guide. Please do not draw your design directly on the template. We cannot use it if the areas marked ‘Don’t put important content here’ appear on the design.
- You can use any kind of art supplies that you want. Feel free to use markers, pencil crayons, crayons, or other art materials. While we will not accept images that have computer generated patterns or graphics copied and added to them, participants may use programs like Paint or Photoshop to color and draw freehand. We can’t accept submissions with company logos or sports team emblems. Please make sure you save your images as a jpg, gif, or png.

This is such a good idea! Can we use photos of the plush pets? I think that would be cool.
Off-topic, but could Webkinz consider adding other floors in My Room? I have hundreds of rooms and wish I could organize them better. It would be easier to have the ability for several maps to have a few dozen rooms or so in each instead of a massive glob of rooms.
So is this going to be something that doesn’t end? Like, we can submit designs at any time of the year and it will be used as the homepage for a while until the next design is used?
As it says, “This a new, ongoing open gallery where players can submit their designs at any time.” It will stay up there like the Fan Art and Room Design galleries.

Great Idea! This is perfect to see the amazing talent the players have. I love the Creative Design Certificate is so cute. I may need to start brain storming up something. :}

Wow the creative design certificate is SO cute! It was such an honor to have won the homepage contest in the past and what a great idea to have it as an ongoing event! I’d love to enter in this as well, but with time, as I feel how I won this in the past I should give a time until there’s been plenty more designs used as the homepage. Ahhh but that certificate is OH SO CUTE!! X) Great idea Webkinz crew, keep up the great work!

This sounds like so much fun! I have an off-topic question though. Sally, on one of my accounts, i have a whole bunch of party loot bags that will not open. I have tried many, many times, but they still won’t open. Can you help me with this problem? It’s been going on for quite some time now, but i never had the chance to ask you about it.

Will the homepages be used as is or will any of them be redrawn in the webkinz style?
They will not be re-drawn, though some editing may occur, if needed.
