To ensure the security of all our player accounts, we have put in place a requirement that all players update their account password before logging into Webkinz World. Players will only have to do this once.
We have streamlined this process for you. When you log in with your current password, you will be given this prompt telling you to update your password:
You will be automatically taken to the Change Password:
Here you can simply enter your new password, and then again to confirm it and click Apply. You will then be taken right into Webkinz World to begin playing.
We are asking that all players use at least 8 characters for their passwords. We encourage players to use both numbers and letters in their password for added security.
UPDATE (04/24/2020): UPDATING YOUR PASSWORD ON MOBILE
- Open a web browser on your mobile device (e.g., Chrome or Safari)
- Go to webkinz.com
- Tap on the gray menu button (3 horizontal stacked lines) in the top right corner of the screen to open the menu
- Tap on “Change password” to go to the mobile Change password screen
- Follow the same steps listed in the article above
Remember, you will only have to do this once. The next time you log in, you will go right in. The security of our player accounts are of utmost importance to everyone at GANZ. We appreciate your patience with this inconvenience.

Was there some sort of security breach at Ganz? I’ve had the same password on my account for 10 years and have never had any reason to change it. Do we have a reason to be worried?

I changed my password (8 characters minimum) and it keeps saying my password was wrong?? I wrote down my password on paper and no one else can see it.
Try your old one again. If that works, change your password again.
I tried my old one and it didn’t work. None of my old passwords work.

Please avoid using symbols in your password. Use letters and numbers.

No, it was a temporary issue. You should be able to use symbols now.
I keep on getting “Please Enter a Valid Password” when trying to change it. I tried it with the parent’s email password change way too.
Right now symbols are not accepted, so make sure the password is only numbers and letters

same never again I miss read it thought they recommended it to be symbols letters and numbers at least for me everything is fixed but I’m never using symbols for Webkinz ever again

I don’t understand the need for security changes, there’s no money account numbers associated with these accounts. It’s not like you can steal a pet! There’s many other issues that need updating other than our passwords on Webkinz
If hackers have your password, they can delete your entire account. Some accounts have a lot of pets and or items bought with real money. All of it is gone forever if they delete your account (which is really easy to do with just having your username and password).
Hi padme, it’s actually a big issue for players if there is a security breach like this one because of the items and membership on your account. Right now, since someone took a bunch of password and username info, that (terrible) person could log into your account and transfer items to another account, or maybe even change your password and take the account from you! (another reason to hold on to your pet’s original tags so you can prove ownership) even though it’s not allowed, people do buy and sell whole webkinz accounts; pets, items, and all! So, someone really could steal your pets, your items, your membership, everything! And it would be very difficult to get it all back (though I am sure the webkinz support team would try their very best because they. are. awesome) While webkinz isn’t directly connected to your bank account or other sensitive personal info, many players spend HUGE amounts of money on items, membership, pets, etc. and would be a significant financial loss if their account was breached. And even if you haven’t spend tons of money, players who have been playing for a long time could lose years of hard work, excuksive items, family score points, etc. Hope this clear up the importance of changing your password for you! :)
Wow, it’s a shame there are people that are that desperate to have virtual things that they hack and steal. Especially with what’s going on in the world today. Thanks for the other perspective, Webkinz was very vague about why after 15 years of play this of all things needed to change. Just sad times!
There was a big security breach recently and over 23 million account usernames and passwords were leaked. It is good that GANZ are mandating a password reset because of these recent events. I’m not trying to scare you, I just am trying to let people know.

ok so not happy !! MY password I have to click the left side WEBKINZ LINK ans type in the NEW CODE or I cant get in !!!! MONKEYSMILE05 is TOTALLY UNABLE TO GET IN !! I tried to help with changeing the password here to match her new one at WEBKINZ but NOTHING seams to work !!
My password was already over 8 characters before, with numbers. why should i have to change it when it meets requirements already?

Thanks Sally for the easy update info, it worked great. to everyone just a tip: if you have virus protection that saves passwords, remember to go to your vault and update that also, it will help so you do not forget your new password.
