Special Report – With Sally Webkinz

It’s Sally Webkinz here with everything you need to know about Christmas in Webkinz World!

Christmas is almost here and it’s one of the most exciting times of the year! December has some great food-related activities. (What can I say? I LOVE food!)

From December 1-31, we’ve got the Candy Cane Collection, which has some really awesome festive furniture that you can decorate your holiday rooms with. Did you know that you can collect a Candy Cane each day from Webkinz Newz? It’s true!

Also food related… the Reindeer Calf is practicing some important flying skills in the Kinzville Park, but needs a little encouragement. If you could head over there and give a kind word or two, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious looking Reindeer Calf Cake Pop. Best part? If you eat it, you get a prize!

There’s still more to come, though — soon it will be the Countdown to Christmas in the Clubhouse, and Ms. Birdy will be handing out a unique gift each day. At the same time, you’ll find an Advent Calendar right here on Webkinz Newz, with a special Community Code that you can use to unlock a prize each day, as well!

And, of course, who could forget the main event…. meeting with Flu-.. I mean, Santakinz himself! You can head to the Clubhouse right now until December 24th to sit on Santakinz’ lap and let him know what you want in your Christmas gift box. That’s right, you get to pick your gift, you get a tasty candy cane treat, AND you get a cool picture of your pet with Santakinz, too! And be sure to log in on the 25th to get your gift — you’ll also want to head to the Today’s Activities page to spin the Super Wheel!

The Webkinz Newz team couldn’t resist having their Christmas party a little early, so I took the opportunity to ask them some important questions about Christmas!

SALLY: Thanks for joining me, everyone! I’m so glad you could make it. I just got back from telling Santakinz what I wanted for Christmas and I was curious what everyone else picked! Mandy, let’s start with you.

MANDY: I just love decorating, so I couldn’t resist the Hot Cocoa Sign.

SALLY: I do love the vintage feel of that poster — great choice! Stephen?

STEPHEN: I got the Zangoz Holiday Plushy.

SALLY: The plushies are always a favorite. I had such a hard time picking because I’ve got a plushy collection, but I really wanted the poster, too. I ended up picking the plushy, though. Michael? What did you pick?

MICHAEL: I picked the Hot Cocoa Sign… but then I bought extras of each with my eStore points.

SALLY: D’oh! I should have thought of that. I might have to go back and visit Santakinz again. Since we’re about to have some food, here’s a question that’s near and dear to my heart: what food do you most associate with Christmas? Let’s start with you this time, Michael.

MICHAEL: Eggnog… especially homemade eggnog.

SALLY: Oh, that sounds delicious. I’ll have to bug you for the recipe. Stephen?

STEPHEN: Even though Thanksgiving wasn’t that long ago, I still associate Christmas with turkey.

SALLY: It is delicious, and so often served at Christmas, as well. When I was growing up, we had roast duck sometimes. (Don’t tell Mayor Dr. Quack!) What about you, Mandy?

MANDY: It’s got to be sugar cookies.

SALLY: Oh, yum! I love sugar cookies — they’re so much fun to decorate, too. And I’m sure Santakinz appreciates if you leave him a plate or two, right?

MANDY: For sure! I always bake extra for Santakinz.

SALLY: Good idea! Don’t forget some carrots for the reindeer. The food I most associate with Christmas is… pickled herring! Especially curried pickled herring. It’s just not Christmas without it. Do you guys have any special Christmas traditions with your families?

STEPHEN: Nothing crazy — just opening gifts with family.

SALLY: That is fun — there are so many ways to do something as simple as that! I’ve had Christmases where all the presents were in giant sack, and someone is designated as “Santa” and has to pull out each one and hand them out one at a time. But sometimes it’s nice to get your pile of presents and dig in. What about you, Mandy?

MANDY: Every year, we go to the Christmas tree farm to pick out our Christmas tree!

SALLY: That sounds awesome! Fresh trees smell so great — you just have to remember to keep them watered. Michael? How about you?

MICHAEL: Every year, we watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

SALLY: Oh, that’s a great movie! There’s something very comforting about watching a movie you love again and again with friends and family. My Christmas tradition is that we have Christmas dinner with family on Christmas Eve, then open most of our presents. On Christmas day, we open one more present and spend the afternoon playing board games with close friends!

There you have it, my little elfs. What food do you associate with Christmas? Do you have any special traditions? And, most importantly, what did you ask Santakinz for? Tell us in the comments below!

Another awesome report with an awesome host! Thanks for sharing, everyone! Christmas food….ohhhh….my dad makes a few desserts that he doesn’t make any other time of year. We have a lot of desserts at Christmas. But we also use turkey, too. Sometimes ham. Sally, how were you able to eat ducks!? WE watch Christmas movies, too! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the year 2015, our Christmas tree fell down, and it was a real one. Every year we go to a tree farm and get a tree for Christmas. Now, my mom got a fake tree because we don’t have room for a real one. I got the hot cocoa sign! Okay, Steve, your outfit. THAT’S AWESOME! Do you guys wear those in real life for Christmas at Ganz? XD

Why in the world are Webkinz hosts promoting National Lampoon movies? And why is there a Sally snake when we already love our host Sally Cat?

    • 20hreiling says:

They are NOT promoting national lamppon movies, It is just michael webkinz christmas tradition!

      • EmeraldCity says:

        “like” :)

I make a very special recipe eggnog every Christmas Eve that includes Vanilla Ice Cream, it’s so good with dust of cinnamon and whipped cream on top with a candy cane swizzle. Everyone loves it! We have this after we get back from candlelight service and we eat deli sandwiches, appetizers and watch movies stay up late, open one gift. I LOVED reading ALL of your traditions! We are all similar on many ways. Thank you, Sally Webkinz for this special report and I think 2018 is going to be better than ever with the Newz Team! I personally have enjoyed all the amazing improvements Webkinz has made the 2017 year! Cheerz to all! Sincerely, EC and Happy Tails!!! :D

Sally Is a real live person, and that’s her actual name, she chose the snake as her avatar. Salley Cat is a fictional character made up for the Adventure Park and Stories. They are different and even spelled different. Sally once even stated that she isn’t Salley Cat. Sally is helpful and truly needed, Salley Cat is annoying and the Kinz can do without her.

    • _emiemiemiemiemi_ says:

Sally cat is a Webkinz character, while Sally Webkinz is a real person that works with Webkinz. She’s not exactly “Sally Snake,” but the snake is a webkinz to represent her. Just like Michael Webkinz has a German Shepherd to represent him, as does Mandy with her Webkinz as a Pot Bellied Pig. They’re not really Webkinz character hosts, just real people working at Ganz. =]

What we kind do as a tradition is on the first of Dec. we start a Christmas themed puzzle 5,000+ and try to finish it by Christmas Eve. We always do it nice to have everyone together looking. But someone always hides a piece so they can say they put the last piece in.

the clubhouse and park never load for me even though my membership doesn’t expire until mid 2018. I have cleared the cookies and cache an turned off the popup blockers…very frustrating.

Webkinz + Holidays = FUN!!! ALL of it!!! Thanks so much!

    • EmeraldCity says:

Michael, we as a family have a tradition to also watch Christmas Vacation every year on Christmas Eve! LOL! I want to watch it now but have to wait…ugh :)

I think a big Christmas associated food for my family is the treats not like Halloween candy, but like baked goods, sugar cookies, and making a gingerbread house. Our whole street makes each other treats. lots of lights. light looking and light decorating. Lots of Christmas movies. And hopefully games this year. I love love love card games and board games. especially challenging ones. ( also learning new ones are fun ) I just don’t have any friends to play with, but when I do hopefully they like games too. It was a hard choice but I went with the hot cocoa sign.

    • TwinnDoll says:

Also Sally what is pickled herring/ curried pickled herring?

    • journeyville says:

Dear TwinnDoll, It was fun to hear about your Christmas especially making a gingerbread house ! One board game we like is Parcheesi. We wanted to remind you we are all friends here on Webkinz so you have a bunch of us. We also know it is not the same as someone to play board games with and we wanted you to know someone here knows how that feels. Your right the cocoa sign is the best one and you helped us finally make up our minds. Rudolph is still our favorite movie. Deciding on which toy can be difficult so thank you for helping us with our decision. We can’t wait to put it above the gingerbread table in the gingerbread room !

      • TwinnDoll says:

Thanks for replying. I have never heard of that game but I will check it out. I am glad that I helped you make a decision. I wish it were easier to find someone else that doesn’t have anyone to hangout with and is looking for a friend. Anyways, thanks so much for replying and talking to me. I hope you and everyone else have a great holiday.

        • journeyville says:

Hello TwinnDoll, It is wonderful to talk with a wonderful person. Books are a great friend to someone here when they have that feeling of no one to hang out with. They know it may take some time but circumstances change. What is difficult is hanging in there until things change. Today we got our first snow so it really feels like winter. We wish you a delightful holiday. It will be so fun when we get those Hot Cocoa signs !

          • TwinnDoll says:

Thanks for talking to me, you are amazing and wonderful as well. I have a hard time finding books that I am interested in, but I hope to find more. I don’t get out much, so that is probably why. I am trying to work on that. Have you been snowboarding/sledding/ice skating? I haven’t but it looks so fun, and I hope to do it. We don’t typically get snow until the end of January/ the beginning of February, and it is usually not much.

These comments are so nice. And of course reading what Sally and Michael, Mandy do for Christmas. All the Christmas activities this year in Webkinz are great. We get to open 1 gift on Christmas eve. Everyone gets new pajamas. We go to a candle light church service. [ Not in our new pajamas. ] We put cookies, and carrots out for Santa. Eggnog cookies and eggnog bread are my favorite. Our Christmas dinner is Ham, with all the fixings. All kinds of desserts. Like to wish everyone here a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank You, Webkinz
