Steve Webkinz here, reporting on the return of Pet Buddies to your pet’s room!
Since the launch of Webkinz X, players have only been able to see Pet Buddies paired with their pets in the Clubhouse and in the Coral Cove room on Vacation Island (because it uses the same room programming as the Clubhouse).
Our latest update has now returned the Pet Buddies to the pet room on both the web AND mobile app versions of Webkinz!
To pair a buddy with your pet, just open the Dress Your Pet window. You’ll find any unpaired Pet Buddies in the clothing section of your Dock under their own sub-tab. They can be added to a pet the same way as a piece of clothing—by dragging one from your Dock to the Dress Your Pet window.
To remove a Pet Buddy, either drag it away from the window or add a different Pet Buddy to swap it. The swap feature also works by dragging and dropping directly into the room, or by dragging the Pet Buddy to your pet’s portrait.
If a Pet Buddy is already paired with a pet, you can find them easily by opening up My Pets. Any paired Pet Buddies will appear in the Pet Dock right above their heart. You can also see a larger version of the Pet Buddy when you preview the pet. Click or tap on the previewed pet and Pet Buddy to rotate them just like in the Dress Your Pet window.
Pet Buddies can still also be viewed in the Clubhouse and Coral Cove, but we’ve now removed the old Pet Buddy button that was there. If you want to switch the Pet Buddy paired with your pet, you’ll need to do it before you arrive at the Clubhouse.
Pet Buddies are also extra fun to interact with! Just click/ tap on one in the room or on the pet portrait to see how they react!

Please note that Pet Buddies are currently not available in the Kinzville Park, Adventure Park, or on the Map of Kinzville (because each uses their own unique room programming), but stay tuned to Webkinz Newz to be the first to know about any new updates!

Yes, it’s called Join the Adventure Sleeping Bag, and I think it was a Webkinz News prize. I have extras if you’d like one or two…or three!
Tropical Girl- oh my gosh..! I’m (trying to) make a sleepover room for my Mazin’ Hamsters I named after all my 8 hamsters that my one hamster gave birth to. Got a hamster at the pet store, years ago-they’re all gone now, and she was pregnant! My heart couldn’t get rid of them so I kept them… ALL lol lol, imagine that, 9 Syrian hamsters in 9 cages! It was a feat, but what a great memory (& story! ha). I have 2 blue & 2 pink from the eStore. If you wouldn’t mind, have them to spare, and wouldn’t miss them later, I’d love even one! My username is the same as it is here: cantmisscantmiss. Thank you SO much, oh my goodness! That’s so nice of you I have the biggest smile. You are one of the reasons I love Webkinz so much, people that play are so kind. :)

mypaquita- Darn! I would have kept looking! Thank you for telling me this. I looked it up, seems to be from 2015, huh? I remember voting for Dr. Quack for Mayor last year, but not seeing her that summer. I started playing about 10 years ago but took some breaks in between when I got real busy which I so regret when I see what I miss. :( Thanks again! Great turorial Steve. I didn’t know much about Pet Buddies. Thanks. BTW, you have shown many Pet Buddies not for sale in the eStore. How would I find one of those?
The Gizmo buddy and Morgan Fairy can be earned through Family Score milestones. The Panda was a marketing prize from awhile ago. Any of the eStore buddies currently not for sale may show up at the Ganz eStore sometime in the future!
Good job! I was just wondering, though, have you updated the new Hedgehog’s colors on mobile? Because I still see dark brown on my Hedgehog’s tummy, haha!

PLEASE tell us if there is a way to store the buddies. Then they wouldn’t be in the dock.
I second that, they just clutter up my dock and I do not use them anyways.
