Special Report – With Steve Webkinz!

Hi everyone, Steve Webkinz here. Did you have an old Webkinz account that you were looking to get back? Well, read on and hopefully I can help!

Here are the important things you should know:

  1. Due to current online child privacy laws, we are legally required to delete any inactive accounts after 7 years. So it has been more than 7 years since you last logged in, it has been deleted and there is no way for us to restore your account.
  2. As of October 1st, 2019, we followed through on our planned USER AGREEMENT UPDATE announcement, part of which involved no longer archiving accounts. While large accounts with 10+ pets were automatically restored, the remaining smaller accounts were permanently deleted. You can read an FAQ about this new policy here.
  3. If it has been less than 7 years since your last login and you had a larger account that was possibly restored, but you can’t remember your login information, you’ll need to contact Customer Support. You can reach them via email at: webkinzsupport@ganz.com

PLEASE NOTE: the Customer Support team can only respond to emails during regular business hours: from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm EST. They often get a high volume of requests (especially over weekends), so please be patient. Response times vary, but can sometimes be upwards of around 10 business days. Sending repeated requests every few days will only add to the backlog.

If you can’t remember your user name, it is still possible to recover your account. However, they can only search for an account using one of the following pieces of information:

  1. The EXACT user name for the account
  2. The email associated to the account (if one was provided when the account was created)
  3. Any of the registered pet Adoption Codes on the account

If you don’t remember any of this information, or if your account was deleted, please understand when Customer Support says they can’t help. They want to do everything they can to help people reconnect with their Webkinz pets, but there is nothing that can be done once they get beyond these technical and legal restrictions.

Also remember that if you wish to start a new account, you can now do so for FREE. It comes with a free virtual pet and a free 3-day Deluxe Membership trial.

If you restore an old account, please note that you will only have Free Player level access, no matter how many pets were adopted onto the account in the past. Adopting additional Webkinz pets onto your free account will unlock Full Membership. If you want access to all of the features and fun in Webkinz World, you can purchase a Deluxe Membership subscription. To learn more about the 3 different tiers of Webkinz membership, check out my earlier Special Report.

This has been Steve Webkinz reporting for Webkinz Newz! What would you like me to report on next? Let me know in the comments below.

  2. guineapigluver says:

I want Steve to bring back the feature where you log out and get to play the games to win wish tokens

  3. nanamama12 says:

I need to get a hold of one of my boys. I had the New Account pages for all of my older children’s older accounts and re-activated them, but I could not find one of them. I wonder if I can get enough information from him to re-activate it.

  4. KSC says:

Hi Steve! How about a report on the Magic Forest? In particular, what, if anything, does purchasing the eStore magic charms and Woodland Wonders figures get you? Thanks and have a great day!

    • ojibwa says:

      I’ve always wondered that too!

      • Ruhrohraggy says:

Yes, a detailed report on the Magic Forest is an excellent idea.

      • MONKEYSMILE05 says:

My grandma got all the charms last year . 1 had a GRAND CHARMLING TREE it has a face and pink flowers. The other she got a MAGIC MIRE MARSH its animated . Look them up in the KINZPEDIA listed above . The charms help you get to the end of game faster finding the charms in the game we play each day . These are POSTABLE so you can send them to another or to your main account. But only 1 of each can get in each account.

  6. TaffyKitty12 says:

Well, if this isn’t motivation for me to log on all of my accounts regularly and keep adopting pets, I dunno what is ;P

  7. mirforbjs says:

Our family has made several accounts over the years. We forgot about one of our smaller accounts with about 12 pets on it, last used in 2012 or 2013. After the announcement this year about deleting accounts, I emailed customer support in July for help because we couldn’t remember the exact username or password. I thought we would luck out because one of the last pets we adopted on that account was purchased from the eStore, so I had the pet code. Well, no such luck! Customer support was not helpful, and I’m pretty sure they tried to accuse me of stealing the account or something like that. So no, you cannot get your account back if all you have is the pet adoption code! Here is exactly what they emailed me: “Hello, We require complete and accurate information in order to process your request. Please reply back to this email and provide us with the following information. -Username, -First name of the user, -Date of Birth of the user (yyyy-mm-dd), -State or Province/Country of the user, -Pet Type, -Pet Name, -Secret code, -Desired Password. ***As a reminder, any attempts to gain access to Webkinz World in a fraudulent manner, including but not limited to using fraudulent Secret Codes or guessing Secret Codes is grounds for the immediate termination of your account.***” First of all, I told them we didn’t remember the username, so how am I going to give them the username? And how would we ever remember what we named the pet 7 years ago?! So crazy!! I wanted to share my story because this article makes it sound like you just need the pet code to get your account back, and that’s not true. Thanks.

    • Steve Webkinz says:

Unfortunately, due to the large volume of account restoration requests that are received by Customer Support, they tend to only respond using stock email responses which may not accurately convey the issue they are having with retrieving your account. If you do not know the account user name, sending them an Adoption Code will help them find the account, but it will not prove that you are the account owner. They will need need additional account information like the player’s name, date of birth, etc. to help prove that it’s your account. The warning about trying to gain access to an account using a found or stolen code is part of this stock response and shouldn’t be taken as a threat to those who are legitimately trying to recover their account.

      • mirforbjs says:

Cool, thank you for letting me know Steve! I admit I got discouraged and never replied back since I couldn’t remember everything they were asking for. I can give them all of our family’s first names (we don’t remember who’s name we entered on that specific account), all of our birth dates, our home State, and pet types on that account. Hopefully this will help them validate that it’s our account. If not, we really don’t need it anyway. Just thought I’d try in case it was still recoverable. :)

  8. couttsebug says:

when will all the “broken” items be fixed, that would be a good topic. Thanks

    • TaffyKitty12 says:

That’s a good question! Even though it’s been four years since the “Webkinz X” update, so many of the items still remain broken… ‘^^ I know Ganz has had a lot on their hands lately, trying to switch Webkinz to app form because of the end of Adobe Flash, but I do hope they eventually address those issues! It’s sad that a lot of my old “animated items” (like TVs, POTM items, etc.) no longer work

      • TaffyKitty12 says:

Also, I’d love an update on the “invite friends” feature, too! That hasn’t worked since Webkinz X, either, and I really miss being able to invite my pals over to my WW house ‘^^

        • Springshimmer says:

Same here! I miss that feature of inviting friends over to the house! I hope they fix that and the broken items someday as well!

          • TaffyKitty12 says:

Yeah! It was always so fun being able to invite other people to your WW house and show them your rooms and things! (And of course, it was awesome getting to see your friends’ rooms, too, when they’d invite you =] ) I do hope they fix that within the next year or so, if it’s at all possible. It feels like eons since I was last able to use that feature o_o

          • Springshimmer says:

Indeed! :) That feature was a lot of fun back then seeing your friends’ rooms and such. (Oh, by the way, not sure if you saw it yet at the time I’m typing this, but I replied to you in the forums about our chat.)

    • RockRfox says:

Yeah, I keep hoping they’ll fix the Time Machine! It looks so cool in my laboratory room, but it’s a real bummer that it still doesn’t work after all this time. :(

  9. suzanneauntie says:

Hi Webkinz, I just completed my Halloween Challenge by feeding my pet a piece of candy from the tree in the park. When it opened up there was something that looked like a treat bag. I tried to put it in my room to see if it would open up, or if it was something that could be placed in the room and it disappeared. I came on every day collecting the candy from the park and the tiles from the clubhouse and now I don’t have one of the prizes. Would you please help me? Thank You

  10. ArcanineEspeon says:

You can start an account with a free virtual pet (w/out membership privileges) and a free 3-day Deluxe membership?! 10-year-old 2010 me didn’t get any of that stuff for free. I wish I could get a free pet and a Deluxe Membership trial. Darn.

    • Wizardsroost says:

Start a new account? Plus that way, you always have someone to play against for challenges. Well, as long as you have a second computer, anyway.

      • ArcanineEspeon says:

Yeah…before returning to Webkinz two months ago, I had no idea of the way some people experienced it, with gigantic joint family accounts, multiple accounts, calling 12 pets a “small account”…the idea feels really weird :/ I would want all the cool stuff to go to Paloma, Gregor and company, not a new place. Though the more I think about it I guess there isn’t much use in that, plus there’s always trading. I have a phone and a laptop, but would prefer to avoid borrowing my parents’ work computers to use Webkinz. There’s lots of computer labs at my university, but that would look really weird, a college student not only playing Webkinz but playing it twice at the same time. You kind of have a point, Wizardroost. It’s just odd to me how Webkinz is in 2019: how much it has changed from 2011, how much it has NOT changed, and how it compares to other games with similar structures, like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp (I never thought I would compare those two). Like how, for example, ACPC is free to start and you can play forever without spending money, as well as earn quite a few Leaf Tickets to pay for exclusive items. Webkinz on the other hand, you have to pay for a full membership (buying a plush for example), yet there is STILL a Deluxe subscription where you pay more money, the Estore points are way more expensive, and you can’t even earn any for free like Leaf Tickets and pretty much every mobile game I’ve played that has a special currency. Yet after all these years with all these paid stuff and ads added, Webkinz still doesn’t show you how many of an item you currently own, or let you look at a catalogue to figure out what you’re missing, the way ACPC does. Not to mention the wiki pages are often years out of date. Sorry for the long comment Wizardsroost, it kind of turned from talking to you into typing my stream of consciousness.

Get yourself an extra account and try it out! We had our 2 original accounts when we returned to WW in December 2017, so I missed out on that stuff too. But we recently began 2 new accounts as well, since we have 3 people in the family to play and we love getting extras. It’s well worth it. My mom warned that having several accounts to keep up with would cause burn out, but it doesn’t because you can pick and chose what activities you want to do and as long as you adopt a pet onto the free account, can send stuff back and forth by Kinzpost. We watch for sales to get new pets. And once in a great while, you can find a plushie with a code from a thrift store or emporium. I found 2 tiger fish, which is one of my favorites for $2.

      • MONKEYSMILE05 says:

TEEDIOUS PART of 2 accounts is early things like making hosts friends and academy so you can do employment with less trouble . BEST is playing against your self (split screen) helping with challenges and sending items . NOT TO FORGET the MAIN CHALLENGES you get to do them AGAIN how awesome !!
