Today’s Throwback Thursday is a look back at our very first rare theme: the Egyptian Theme!
Normally, items in a rare theme can only be found in the Curio Shop, which means there’s a chance each day that one of these items might appear there, but for one hour only!
When the Curio Shop opened in 2006, the Egyptian Theme was the one and only rare theme in all of Webkinz World. However, not all items in this theme made the cut: there was a toybox that looked like an Egyptian sarcophagus which was deemed to be inappropriate for our audience at that time, and was never released.
Since then, there have been some additions to the Egyptian theme that are a little easier for the Webkinz Archaeologist to dig up! If you keep an eye on the Ganz eStore or the new WShop, you might just see a Kitti of the Nile, the Egyptian Room Divider, a Golden Hippo Toybox, or the frighteningly-funny Mummy’s Awake!
There was also an Egyptian Mummy Mask that was available in the KinzStyle Outlet only for Halloween back in 2012!
Have YOU collected any Egyptian Theme items? Which ones do you love the most? Let us know in the comments below!
I think my favorite is the fridge. That`s the only one I have. I won it as a prize, I didn`t buy it.
I had that mask but I sold it last year :(
i have at least 50% of them
Great theme, but wish the items would have appear more often at the curio shop.
So far I have the flooring and the elegant Egyptian vanity but that’s it. Once in a while I will see that couch, but I never buy it because its a lot of kinzcash.
what thursday
I really don’t get it. Why did they think the original toy box was inappropriate? Add me blueberrypie28
i have the refrigerator and the vase! i had no idea there was such an elaborate Egyptian theme! i can see why they never released the toy box, though it would still be a great addition 2 the theme despite what the meaning users might get from it. i’m glad they’re still adding 2 the theme. i also got some ancient aztec items from the Curio Shop that would work well with the theme! i like all the items from the Egyptian theme!
Cool! Our class is studying Egypt!
cool! :D
