With December 2020 approaching, we wanted to give you an update to the future of Webkinz. Back in May 2019, we released the Webkinz Desktop App, and later in the year we released the Mac version. These versions did still use the Flash Player, just without a browser.
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be releasing a NEW Desktop App that no longer uses Flash Player at all. This version will allow you to play Webkinz for years to come!
And there is no need to wait. By downloading and installing the current Desktop App, you will automatically be upgraded to the new version as soon as it is ready.
We at Ganz are very proud of Webkinz and have no intention of a little thing like Flash getting in the way of your fun! We will continue to support Webkinz with new items, new pets and all of your favorite events.

I’m ready to rock and roll too! I was in for the new desktop version as soon as it came out. It runs so much better there. It freezes from time to time, I would imagine that it’s because more people are playing more often because of quarantine, but a quick restart and we are good to go.
To everyone using a laptop: If you take three fingers and swipe up on your keypad, everything that’s open on your computer should show up as a row of icons. You can then click on the one you want without having to close the Webkinz desktop app. I really enjoy the app because it’s full screen, but it’s nice to switch back and forth between Webkinz Newz and the app when I need to. Idk about desktop computers though, it’s been a while since I played on one.

I already use the desktop app on my Mac. Does that mean that i’m already part of the upgrade-when-it’s-ready thing?
Can Chromebook do this also???? Because Mac and Windows aren’t the same for Google Chromebook sadly.. I really wanna continue to play! Please help
What about Webkinz World for Chrome Books? Will the new desktop app work on Chrome Book, or are they still out of luck?
Are the new desktop app and the beta testing program connected? Is generation 2 of the plushies involved?
