With December 2020 approaching, we wanted to give you an update to the future of Webkinz. Back in May 2019, we released the Webkinz Desktop App, and later in the year we released the Mac version. These versions did still use the Flash Player, just without a browser.
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be releasing a NEW Desktop App that no longer uses Flash Player at all. This version will allow you to play Webkinz for years to come!
And there is no need to wait. By downloading and installing the current Desktop App, you will automatically be upgraded to the new version as soon as it is ready.
We at Ganz are very proud of Webkinz and have no intention of a little thing like Flash getting in the way of your fun! We will continue to support Webkinz with new items, new pets and all of your favorite events.

I’m trying to switch to the desktop app, but am stuck in a loop. I do have Flash installed, but the Webkinz app doesn’t recognize that I do. I suppose this will be moot once the Webkinz desktop app no longer needs Flash at all, but it’s weird that Webkinz still works in my browser, but not through the desktop app. Any advice?

Hey webkinz….ummmmmmmm…..what about the users who have chromebooks????? Can you please come up with something for us through google play or something???? I’d hate to not be able to play anymore…. x_x

I tried downloading it but then I got a message saying I need to download flashplayer. :(
The standalone version isn’t ready yet. You’ll still need Flash Player in the meantime.
i think this will ruin the flash parts of webkinz, or remove many parts of it.. and cause so many more bugs that still not fixed the bugs already, but thanks for staying for this long time!! BUT! although this is happen, i want to play webkinz on browser still. i have a trick that lets me use flash no matter what the stupid “disabling flash on all browsers” thing happens, because they can’t remove flash from our computers, it just wont be supported on the latest browsers.. but i can use many old browser for flash when this happens, i hope not removing playing on website any time soon T_T
