Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.
The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!
To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.
Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.
Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.
When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.
Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!
And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.
Hi Sally! I’m up and playing on the new desktop app and I love it. Reading these comments, it seems that perhaps some players might benefit from a video demo of how to download the app–something that walks them through from where they click that homepage link to where the app sign-in page shows up on the screen. I downloaded the Desktop App when it first came out and used it some, but went back to the browser because it’s just easier for me. Back to using the App now and I find I cannot print from the App. Is there a way? I have 19 accounts and keep a folder on each one. I always print out the bio of each new pet, and write down its PSI and PSF. I very much want to keep doing that. Does anyone know how to print from the desktop app? Appreciate any help – if its not too complicated :-) Thanks.

hi, i downloaded the new webkinz app and logged in with my existing account, which i use in webkinz classic. it looged me in without needing to create antoher account, but i cant see the pets whice were on my webkinz classic acount. is that supposed to happen? dies the new webkinz app not remeber fully rember the account? can i rejister this pets again or something? please help…
The new Webkinz app (through the app store) is for the new Webkinz, which reserved your username but is not otherwise connected in any way. Please download the Desktop App from webkinz.com directly to access your Webkinz Classic account.
Hi, when will everything transfer over to the new app? Right now all I have on the app is the FREE pet that you get when you log on.
The new game is completely separate. To continue playing Webkinz Classic, you need to download the Desktop App, which is a direct download from the homepage. If you end up on an App Store, you’ve clicked the wrong thing.
Why do you have to download the app before January 2021? are they going make it unavailable after? if someone knows please reply!
If you want an uninterrupted experience, you’ll need to download before the end of the year. Browsers are ending support, so you won’t be able to log in through the browser. The Desktop App is not disappearing — it will remain available on the homepage
I feel bad for Chromebook users on one side I feel like Google not helping Ganz is technically bullying them and leaving them out I’m glad I have two Mac’s I hope Ganz will eventually do something for the ones who can’t play on computers because they have a Chromebook hmm maybe there is Webkinz Please add the full Webkinz Classic to mobile app so the Chromebook users can still play I feel bad for them
Hey guys!!!! I figured out how to Minimize the Webkinz Desktop App!!! Ok so it’s very very simple, you just click (alt, and “space”) At the same time then, there will be a small setup at the top of the computer screen then, press “minimize” the Minimize icon should look like this, _ Minimize. If you have any questions, lmk. I have to tell you guys something, my cat was on the key board, and that’s how I figured out how to minimize it. LOL. It’s a very good cat
For Mac users to exit full screen I found few tricks unhide the dock on bottom and wait for it to pop up then you can go to Safari or use F3 to switch between these to apps and finally F4 will go to launchpad and you can get to Safari that way Hope this helps. Sorry I made some typos I just caught them I was typing to fast.

I found a lot of tricks for the Mac first way F3 and you can swap that second way F4 and you to swap screens that way clicking Safari in launch pad third Command Space and search Webkinz news in spotlight search, Fourth Command tab it’ll bring you to Webkinz new if your already on it Wow that a lot of keyboard tricks I hope I helped

What about Chrome Books. It will not download.
I am a Flash user. I just emailed Ganz to ask about the new download to continue using Webkinz. They told me “sorry for the inconvenience”, but there are no plans for a download for Chrome Book users. I have 5 Deluxe accounts, I have been a Webkinz user for 15 years, and now they tell me, too bad you will lose everything in January. I am so angry and upset. I guess they just don’t care about probably the thosands of Chrome Book users. I am losing 15 years, thousands of pets, plus all my work creating, estore points etc. I am just about in tears.
Give ‘em a break: It is not WebKinz fault that flash is being discontinued, complain to Adobe (the makers of flash).

I too have been a long time user with hundreds and hundreds of webkinz & I’ve spent thousands of dollars on them… so it’s a bit aggravating to say the absolute least….. they’re coming out with a new webkinz, but theres no cute for adobe??? seriously… give me a break. . .

Yes but in reality Ganz knew that flash was being discontinued for a long time now just like the rest of us. I don’t have a Chrome book and I am not affected in any way and can continue on as normal. However if I was a Chrome user I would be pretty upset since I think there was enough time to prepare for flash disappearing for all players in WW so no one would lose any time playing.
Not sure if this is an option, but can you buy a new laptop or something and not use your Chrome Book? Maybe a cheap one just for Webkinz? I know that’s what i’d do rather than lose all of my pets, etc. Just a thought Good luck :-)

Some Chrome Books can run the mobile app. You can download it from the Google Play store if you’re one of the lucky chrome book owners. It’s a lot better than nothing. You’d at least have access to all your pets and rooms as well as kinzpost, wshop, and several arcade games.
