Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.
The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!
To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.
Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.
Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.
When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.
Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!
And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.
I am using the desktop app but I am not able to switch pets in the My Pets tab. I click on a pet I want to use and nothing happens.
I got the app downloaded and it appears to be working fine, except I am having issues watching the videos in the club house. The video comes up but when I go to “play” it doesn’t go and locks up the app. This requires me to exit and re-open. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
I do not think that feature is available on the app.
How does one download? Where is the button? Thank you!
If the website’s supposed to be down already, why is it that I can still log in to the website on its homepage?
Flash will no longer be supported after 12.31.20 but it will run for a few days into January then they’re supposed to eliminate it.
If I download the app onto my computer tomorrow instead of today, will I lose my current account because I downloaded it in 2021 or will I still have my pets, money, and other stuff?
Don’t worry, you won’t lose anything. It’s important to download the app if you want to keep playing Webkinz.
i have downloaded and uninstalled the mac version of the desktop app multiple times now but i cant even get a log in screen to come up after i click play
Can you still download the app after January 1st?
I have a suggestion that could be the solution for Chrome players. (Please keep in mind that I have very little knowledge of game design and code, so it may seem reasonable to me but be completely unrealistic in reality.) What if you took the classic game and turned it into an “app?” It would allow Chromebook users to continue playing without sacrificing features like in the current app, which is necessary to have as another alternative. (It could even be renamed to something along the lines of “Webkinz Lite” to avoid confusion.) The Play Store allows developers to restrict downloads to specific devices, so you could even make the “app” compatible with only Chromebooks to ensure that no one accidentally downloads the entire game onto their phone.
The Webkinz mobile app is already compatible with Chromebook, so a “lite” version is already technically available
Does the app only work on Windows and Mac? I have a computer that uses Linux, will it work on that?
Not unless you’re using an emulator
Oh. I will get Windows on this computer then, and download the app. Thanks!
I can’t find the answer Sally Webkinz gave me anywhere. I forgot one of the passwords to one of my accounts, who should I email so that I can retrieve it?

Thaaaaaaaaaank you!!!!!!!
