URGENT: Keep Playing With the Desktop App!


Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.


The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!


To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.


Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.


Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.



When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.


Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!


And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.

    Good morning friends, With this Desktop App – Can I have two screens in view at the same time? Please can someone assist me in how to have multiple screens up at the same time? [***I'd like to catch snowflakes on two screens at the same time, rather than it taking twice the time] Appreciative of any info you can share.

      It is not possible to run two instances of the Desktop App simultaneously on the same machine. The only way to accomplish this is to have more than one computer running the app.

    Thank you so much for completely moving away from flash! Before I wasn’t able to play the desktop app because it required me to install the latest version of flash. I was pretty sad because that meant I was no longer able to play Webkinz. Now I just installed the newest desktop app version and didn’t have to install flash! I’m super happy to be playing again!

    I got the new desktop app but it keeps saying that my user name and or password are wrong, then when I tried to put my parent’s email in to change the password it says my parent password in not in the system or something like that. so I have no way to get into my webkinz account. What do I do? Thanks

    Are there plans to further expand app access to what we had on the site? My account (it’s new, but I purchased a new code) is incredibly limited at the moment. I honestly just wanna play some checkers but all multiplayer games are down lol

    The Desktop app stopped working yesterday and it still won’t load. It just says “loading” all the time and it never does :( :( :( Is there a glitch?

    Sally Webkinz, yesterday I was on the app and tried to play the dog beards bathtub battle for the challenge this month. A window popped up and said that an Adobe Flash script was making it take too much time to load the game and did I want to allow it to continue trying or stop. I said stop but the game didn’t load. Is the app still using Flash?

    new webkinz, I thought I read that if you are DLX on classic then you would be DLX on the new webkinz??? I downloaded the new webkinz to give it a try and I am not DLX. I only get 3 plays in the arcade. Can anyone give me help on this……thanks

      There is no Deluxe on the new Webkinz currently, and the games are completely separate — what you do on one does not affect the other. You will need to adopt a pet on the new Webkinz to get full membership there, as well

        Ok Thanks. Can I just use one of the pet codes I already have? Just want to give new webkinz a fair try. I am a long time classic player, very glad we were able to keep playing classic. Thanks again Sally!

    I got the App and when I’m on my account sometimes the screen freezes. How do I exit out without shutting down my computer?

    My niece is freaking out; she has been locked out of her account for 2 months with no response to many emails to webkinz support. My sister has put the desktop app on, but my niece thinks she’s lost all her pets and stuff because she hasn’t been able to login. Playing with her on Webkinz is one of our best ways to keep in touch through Covid. This is so sad. Help appreciated!!

      I know that support has been backlogged for many weeks. I’m so sorry about your niece — is it that she can’t remember her password? If I remember correctly, Ganz waits a long time before deleting inactive accounts — like years even. I know there was something about it on WKN. Try going to the Webkinz Newz tab, then type in “inactive account” or something and maybe you can find it. It won’t help her get in, but it might relieve her fears about losing her account.

      I found it! It’s a special report from Michael. Check the Newz Blog and search “inactive account”. He saysHere are the important things you should know:

      Due to current online child privacy laws, we are legally required to delete any inactive accounts after 7 years. So it has been more than 7 years since you last logged in, it has been deleted and there is no way for us to restore your account.
      As of October 1st, 2019, we followed through on our planned USER AGREEMENT UPDATE announcement, part of which involved no longer archiving accounts. While large accounts with 10+ pets were automatically restored, the remaining smaller accounts were permanently deleted. You can read an FAQ about this new policy here.
      If it has been less than 7 years since your last login and you had a larger account that was possibly restored, but you can’t remember your login information, you’ll need to contact Customer Support. You can reach them via email at: webkinzsupport@ganz.com

      PLEASE NOTE: the Customer Support team can only respond to emails during regular business hours: from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm EST. They often get a high volume of requests (especially over weekends), so please be patient. Response times vary, but can sometimes be upwards of around 10 business days. Sending repeated requests every few days will only add to the backlog.

      If you can’t remember your user name, it is still possible to recover your account. However, they can only search for an account using one of the following pieces of information:

      The EXACT user name for the account
      The email associated to the account (if one was provided when the account was created)
      Any of the registered pet Adoption Codes on the account

      If you don’t remember any of this information, or if your account was deleted, please understand when Customer Support says they can’t help. They want to do everything they can to help people reconnect with their Webkinz pets, but there is nothing that can be done once they get beyond these technical and legal restrictions.
      Hope this isn’t too long to post.
