Elwin’s Dressing Room
Hey, Hail! I actually had a fun day on tour for a change! It all started when we got to our latest concert venue. They showed me into my dressing room and – ugh! It was an insult to my sensibilities, Hailey. The room itself wasn’t too bad, but they had thrown in a whole mishmash of stuff. It was way too crowded. Check it out:           What were they thinking, shoving all that stuff in there? I mean, the dressing room is usually going to be used by acts passing through town. They don’t need that much clothing storage. One dresser would be fine, right? And the way it’s laid out – when I sat on the couch I couldn’t even see the TV! I asked the staff if they would mind if I removed some of the furniture in the room. They told me there was a big storage space backstage and I was welcome to move anything I wanted into there. They even offered to help me move the larger pieces.           Now, this layout just works so much … Read more
Checking in on Reid
Oh, hi! It’s me, Roberta. Sorry I haven’t checked in lately but, well, this big sister thing hasn’t exactly been going according to plan. Reid has been really colicky lately. That means that he’s fussy and crying all the time because he probably has a sore tummy. Dr. Quack says it’s fairly normal. I do feel sorry for the little guy, but seriously – I don’t know how much more of this I can take! He never seems to stop! And I don’t even have it the worst. My mom and dad said I could sleep downstairs in my craft room if I wanted so that I wouldn’t have to listen to Reid cry at night, but they don’t have that option. They’re both like zombies, wandering around in a daze, with big dark circles under their eyes. My mom said it’s not really that bad, that it’s just a phase and Reid will get over it soon enough, but I have to say – this is not how I imagined it would be to have a baby around. I thought it would be all cuteness and cuddles, not screaming and crying all the time. … Read more
Ella Interviews Goober
Ella McWoof: Today I’m here with Harold J. Hausenfeffer II, or as you probably know him, Kinzville’s foremost scientist, Goober. Goober: And I’m glad to be here, Emma! EM: Uh, it’s Ella. G: Sorry about that! I know your name, Erma! EM: ELLA. Anyway, Goober let’s start by having you tell our readers about what you’re working on in your lab these days. G: Oh, so many things! I’ve got five key experiments on the go right now. I’m trying to figure out a formula for un-sticky glue, a way to make invisible hats, a potion to make me taller, one to make me shorter, and (of course), I’m still trying to figure out Great-Great Grandma Hausenfeffer’s secret brownie recipe. EM: Brownie recipe? G: Yes. It’s delicious. And one day I shall recreate it. Great-Great Grandma Hausenfeffer never wrote anything down, so it’s all a huge tasty trial and error to figure out the correct ingredients. I’ve eaten so many pans of brownies. EM: Why would you want to make un-sticky glue? G: In case you glued something somewhere that it shouldn’t be. Then you could just un-stick it and move it somewhere else. EM: And an invisible hat? … Read more

Touring: Not So Fun
Dear Hailey, Okay, I hope you’re not getting sick of my letters because I just feel like I am constantly complaining to you. The thing is, I know I can share my real feelings with you and not worry about it, unlike around here where I have to put on a brave face all the time. Maybe I’m just tired but I’m really starting to question whether stardom is really for me. You know that I’m not afraid of hard work – I mean, I can stay up all night drafting plans for new designs and I have endless energy when it comes to moving furniture around a room to get it just right. But when I am working on my designs I am so caught up in the moment that it doesn’t even feel like work to me. It’s just where I want to be. Hailey, touring just feels like work. And hard work that I’m not even that excited about. In fact, the further we get into the tour, the less excited I feel. I just have to ask you, if this is what I was really meant to do wouldn’t I be enjoying myself more?
Craft: Build your own Wacky Sculpture
We’re having so much fun playing with the new Building Kits in Webkinz World it inspired us to create some real life Building Kits of our own! Here’s how you can build your own Wacky Sculpture: What you need: -         Oven bake clay -         Acrylic paint (optional) -         Sculpting tools: toothpicks, craft stick, dull knives (with the help of an adult assistant) -         paintbrush What you do: To make Wacky, mould one piece of clay into a large teardrop shape and set it down on the wide end. You can make a small slit at the top of the teardrop shape and separate it slightly to form Wacky’s ‘hair’. To craft legs, roll some clay into a thick sausage shape and cut in half with a knife. Shape one end into a foot (no toes!) Attach each leg to the side of the base of your teardrop shape, pointing outward. To make Wacky’s arms, roll a piece of clay into a slightly thinner sausage shape and cut in half. Form one end into a mitten shaped hand. Attach the arms to the side of Wacky above the legs. Smooth over the clay where the arms and legs attach to hide … Read more

Ella Interviews PJ Collie
Ella McWoof: Today, I am very happy to welcome my dear friend PJ Collie to the interview chair! PJ Collie: Hey Ell! So good to be here. EM: Well, PJ, it seems our readers really want to know all about you. So even though I already know the answer to most of these questions (because we’re BFFs and all), I’m happy to share you with the rest of Webkinz World! PJ: Awesome! EM: First of all, how are things at the KinzStyle Outlet? PJ: Pretty terrific. I really love working there. I’m always trying to come up with some new designs to feature in the shop. I love it when we get new clothes in for each season – keeping the KinzStyle Outlet fresh and fashionable is my number one priority! EM: How often do you see Persephone, the main designer of KinzStyle outfits? PJ: Persephone is always so busy arranging fashion shows and creating her wonderful designs. She stops by a few times a year, and we email and talk on the phone often. She likes to be involved from a distance. EM: When you’re not at the KinzStyle Outlet, what … Read more

Elwin: Speechless?
Hi Hailey! Sorry – I know I promised to call you last night, but right now I can barely talk. It was my third concert last night and my voice is gone! You know, when I was recording my album, all the singing didn’t really take a toll on me, but I guess that’s because we had a lot of breaks and they were always having to stop and make adjustments, but when you’re up on stage for a concert you’re singing practically the whole time. By the end of the evening last night I was croaking out the lyrics. The audience didn’t seem to notice but today my vocal chords are aching. The chef made me some special tea which helped a little and all morning today I have been sucking on lozenges to soothe my throat. But I am trying not to talk at all. They tell me the best thing I can do is just rest my voice. You know, touring isn’t exactly as glamorous as you might imagine. I promise to call as soon as I can speak again! Love, El
