A Surprise for Hailey!
You won’t believe what happened to me today! I was working in the studio and I was just about to close up for the day when the phone rang. It was some guy whose voice sounded kind of familiar but it was very deep and the line seemed very crackly. He asked if I had filled the role of the designer that I had advertised for earlier in the month. I explained that I had seen a few designers but that I hadn’t made any firm decisions yet. He asked if he could drop off his portfolio for me to look at because he was very interested in the position. When I told him that I was just leaving but that he could drop off his portfolio tomorrow morning, he said he was just around the corner and he’d really appreciate it if I could hold on for just five minutes. It was driving me crazy trying to figure out where I knew his voice from, so I said sure, because I was curious to see if I recognized this guy. Ella Interviews Andy McWoof
Hey everyone! Ella here with a familiar face…familiar to me, anyway! It’s my dad, Andy McWoof! He’s the editor of the Webkinz Newz, and I definitely wanted to include him in my month of interviews. Ella: Hi, Dad! Thanks for joining us! Andy McWoof: I’m glad to be here, dear. Everyone is really enjoying your month of interviews and I didn’t want to be left out of the fun! EM: Well, my first question is about how you managed to become the editor of the Webkinz Newz. I know the story, obviously, but none of our readers do. Care to fill them in? AM: Oh, you know I love to tell that story. It all started back when I was just a little pup in elementary school. I had a knack for writing and finding stories everywhere. In fact, when I was only seven, I started my own newspaper. I gave it out to my friends for free, but they were impressed. And so were my parents. Elwin Makes a Difficult Choice
Well, I’ve been thinking long and hard about this whole touring thing and I’ve come to a really tough decision. It’s been a really fascinating journey that I’ve been on for the past few months since I first entered the Kinzville Sings! competition, but everything I’ve been through has made me realize that where I belong is back at home with my sister, designing rooms in Kinzville. So today I told the producers at Kinzville Sings! that when this tour is over I’m done with my recording career and I’m heading home. They were really understanding about it. They said that not everyone is cut out for this life and they could tell that all the stress had been starting to take its toll on me. I haven’t told Hailey yet though. I really want to surprise her. I just hope that she hasn’t hired another designer to take my place.
Play Tunneling Twigzy!
Twigzy is a caterpillar on a mission: to build the most amazing tree house EVER! In order to do that, though, he needs some help. Twigzy needs to tunnel into the center of the tree, and he needs you to guide his way! Use the arrows to move Twigzy, and then use the spacebar to eat the area in front of him. You can eat groups of blocks of the same color. You can pick up energy along the way (watch to make sure Twigzy doesn’t run out of energy or you’ll lose a turn), and be sure to keep an eye out for falling blocks; if Twigzy gets hit by one, he loses a turn. See how far you can take Twigzy; can you make it to the center of the tree?!
Road Trip Recipe: Cheese Straws
What you need: - 2 cups flour - 2 cups old Cheddar cheese, grated - 3/4 cup butter, softened - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/2 cup water - an adult assistant What you do: Preheat oven to 400°. Grease a baking sheet. Add all ingredients EXCEPT water to a large bowl. Slowly mix in water, a little at a time until the mixture sticks together to form a dough. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼” thickness. Cut into strips about ¼” thick and then cut into 4” lengths. Place on baking sheet and bake for about 5 minutes until golden brown.

Click on them when you match them to clear them from the board. Be sure the tiles don’t have another tile on top of them, and make sure they’re not surrounded by tiles; the tiles have to be available to be clicked upon. There are three different ways to play the game: Classic, Quick and Target. Each one is a ton of fun, so try all three today!
Elwin: Mobbed!
Dear Hailey, I just made it back to my bus after a really scary experience! I’d finished my concert and then I went out back to sign some autographs like I always do. The thing is, tonight seemed to be a much bigger crowd than I’m used to and when I went outside without any warning everyone seemed to surge forward at once! As more and more fans crowded in, some of them started screaming my name. I know you’re probably thinking that sounds kind of cool, and that’s what I would have thought too, but it was not cool, Hail. Not cool at all! I was really starting to get frightened. There were so many fans, all screaming and pushing in on me, but suddenly a couple of my roadies pushed their way through the crowd and surrounded me. Roadies are the crew who help set up each concert. They’re big, burly fellas who spend all their time lugging heavy equipment around, so they’re really strong and they were able to form a circle around me and guide me to the bus. Ella interview: Purr-Cilla
Ella McWoof: I’m here with Purr-Cilla. Purr-Cilla played a large role in the student government last year and I’m sure that our readers would love to learn more about her. I’ve also heard murmurings that sometimes Purr-Cilla doesn’t always get along with all of the ‘Kinz and I thought that we could address those rumors here today. Purr-Cilla, welcome. Purr-Cilla: Wow! I was wondering when you were going to get around to interviewing someone that the readers would REALLY like to hear about. Ella McWoof: Um, well, I think the readers are anxious to learn about a lot of the residents of Kinzville, but maybe you could tell us a little about the contributions you made to the School Council. Purr-Cilla: What DIDN’T I do is more like it. I practically carried the council all year last year. Salley is not exactly management material, but I was able to keep it together and work with her and in the end I guess we made an okay team. I think there was just a little confusion about who should have been president and who should have been vice-president but whatever. There’s nothing like a cool smoothie at the end of a hot summer’s day – and that’s why you should check out Smoothie Moves in the Webkinz World Arcade! Blanche is a cat who works at a diner, and she needs your help to fill all the smoothie orders. Help by tossing food onto the conveyor belt to make a group of three or more of the same food. When you do, the group will disappear. When you use all the ingredients on the conveyor belt, you move up a level! Watch out for awesome combos and cool power ups – and make sure the food doesn’t fall off the end of the conveyor belt! Head over to the Webkinz World Arcade today and play!
