Uh hi, it’s Alex Tiger. I’m feeling kind of overwhelmed. We’ve been talking an awful lot about Halloween at school and outside of school. In fact, it seems to be about all anyone can talk about right now. It’s just, well, I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this but… well, I don’t really like Halloween.
I like the candy part – that’s about the only part that makes it worth it. But I don’t like dressing up and I don’t like it when other people dress up in scary costumes. What’s so fun about being scared? I hate being scared. And when you go out on Halloween night, there are all these creepy looking costumes and you can’t tell who anybody is.
And the worst part – even worse than the costumes – is all the frightening decorations. There are skulls and ghosts and bats and creepy crawlies all over the place. And some of those Jack-o-lanterns have terrifying faces. I don’t see why people have to make them look so nasty. I don’t mind some of the funny ones.
I just don’t understand what is so great about this holiday. Why would anyone WANT to be scared? Can someone please explain it to me? I’m really not looking forward to it but I can’t say anything to my friends. I’m sure they’re just going to think I’m a big baby.

I don’t like Halloween either. =) I’m glad one of the ‘Kinz doesn’t like it. I don’t celebrate it but candy sounds good!

you should tell your friends that you get scared on halloween and be brave when you do it.Alsotell them that you dont care if they think you are a baby and that if they keep doing that to you that you wont be their friend anymore if they keep on being mean to you.

i dom’t like it either but i know that they do it just for fun pretend they are happy faces or something or think of something else
Hey Alex,its okay you dont like Halloween! Not alot of people enjoy halloween. My mom takes it as an evil holiday but still lets me trick-or-treat.I remember when I was about 7 me and my cousin were trick-or-treating,and there was this skeleton on the porch,and when i tried to grab candy out of the bucket it was holding (because i thought the skeleton was fake) it reached out its arm “to grab me”(i thought it was…..)It scared the living daylights out of me!!!!Anyway,when people scare you i dont think its on purpose. I think theyre just having fun!

i love Halloween! it is one of my favorite holidays. I also think it’s fun to be scared and I LOVE candy SOOOO much! Once i was at party city with my friend and there was this bowl of chocolate coins and it had a decoration of a ghost on the edge and i reached in the bowl to take a coin and then the ghost screamed and it scared the life out of me!
It’s OK Alex, one year my dad dressed up as a vampire and it scared the living day light out of me! lots of other people are scared too(they just don’t admit it). Like the comment above (P.S. thanks for telling me what the story’s called) it’s all started with a story. It all started (like always) when people where real superstitions and they beveled that, that one night spirits would come back and hunt them(or something like that). So , they would dress up like someone else to disguise themselves so the ghosts and spirits wouldn’t find them. Well if you ask me it’s real easy for ghosts and spirits identify you, right? So my guess they started to change over the years and from going under cover they gave out candy as a reword or something like that. So really you should dress up, stay safe! Oh and also if your friends make fun of you tell them that story so they know not to mess with you! Peace, love, WEBKINZ!
