Foiled Wrapped Campfire Caramel Apples

What you need:

-          Aluminum foil

-          Apples

-          Caramels

-          Adult assistant

What you do:

1. Cut two square of aluminum foil about twice the size of the apple.

2. Peel and core your apple. Set it on the two squares of foil.

3. Stuff as many unwrapped caramels as you can fit into the middle of the apple.

4. Wrap apple in foil – not too tightly. Place wrapped apple in the warm embers around the edge of the fire (don’t put it directly into the fire!) and bake for about 20 – 30 minutes, turning 5 minutes.

5. Apples are done when they are soft to the touch.

I make something like it in the oven. Core apples and I leave the skin on, u can peel if you like, and I like the tartness of granny smith apples. Stuff the cores with whatever you like but I use rasins brown sugar a bit of butter and sometimes nuts and a dash of cinnamon. Wrap in tinfoil and bake on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees until a bit squishy. GREAT with ice cream warm!
