Dear Diary,
You’ll NEVER believe what happened today: my best friend, Laurabeard, showed up at my house at noon. We hadn’t planned to do anything together, but I was really happy to see her. She was…nervous. I invited her in and got out some snacks, but she just fiddled with the carrot sticks and dip, and didn’t really eat anything. Then, all of a sudden, she blurted out:
“Nibbles, I’m going to be going away for awhile. Like, away from Kinzville. For more than a month.”
And I choked on the celery stick I was eating.
When I stopped coughing, I asked what in Webkinz World she was talking about.
Well, apparently Dogbeard is headed out on yet another fantastic voyage – only this time, he’s invited his whole family to join him. He said he needed some ‘extra paws on deck.’ So Laurabeard is going.
She’s really, really excited. But sad because she’ll be gone for at least three months. And it could be longer, depending on how things go.
She’s not even sure she’ll be back for Plumpy’s wedding (whenever that will be).
I can’t believe it. First my sister gets engaged. Then my best friend decides to take off and explore Webkinz World.
I know, on a sensible level, that I should be happy for both of them.
But really? I just feel kind of…sad.
I’m sure it’ll be OK. I just wish things weren’t changing so fast.

Oh, bummer, Nibbles… I’ve had numerous friends move away or go on long trips in the past, but remember: no matter where life takes the two of you, you’ll always be friends. I’m sure Laurabeard will write and maybe even send photos and stuff! I know it’s especially hard right now with the fear of Plumpy leaving, but Plumpy isn’t really ditching you either.

I do know how you have felt Nibbles, well sort of.I am 13 years od and have moved numerous times. Total I have been to 6 different t schools. I know it was a lot but surprisingly since I am a shy girl I got used to it .Everything will be okay.We are there for you!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice Moonstar if you are counting pre school and kindergarten then 15 schools. I had to move like every MONTH !!!!!!!!! I might have to change to a new school because mine isn’t so great .When I graduate high school,I will have to add 6 different schools if I changes schools and if my dad gets a certain job.
Oh, I feel so sad for all of you who always have to move. :-( I have never moved in my life. I am homeschooled, so even if I would move, it wouldn’t be AS bad. But I would still miss all my friends here. My first best friend already moved a long way away and I really miss her… But I feel for you guys, I can’t imagine having to go to 15 different schools! How do you make friends?
Actually for me, making friends is very easy. I am good at making friends, so I don’t have as hard of a time as some people do. Like this year, me and my ex-BFF went to a new middle school in a new district, and I quickly had tons of friends where as she had none. -Moonstar◙◙◙

Hi Nibbles! Listen to what everyone is saying: we know you do not feel great, and understand why you are feeling this way. We are glad you are happy for your BFF and your sister, but we recognize that this whole combined situation is a HUGE challenge for you. I hope you plan a going-away party for LauraBeard (maybe a sleepover?!) AND talk with your sister to learn more about her wedding and what happens to you after it happens. Perhaps you could have this talk with Plumpy when you talk with her about LauraBeard’s party. And, while sisters do not throw pre-wedding parties with guests for each other, there is nothing to prevent you from planning a special “Sister’s Day” for just you and Plumpy. Maybe getting involved in THEIR happiness will help you feel better. I also think that talking with Plumpy about how you feel and about your discomfort about all the upcoming changes in your life and not knowing what is going to happen with your living situation will help you feel better, too. Don’t worry about a thing Nibbles,everything happens for the good of it.While Laruabeard is away start making a list about what you want to do when she gets back .If she isn’t back before Plumply’s wedding think of it being a special wedding,it is not every day that your sister gets married.I hope you have a enough perseverance to get through these tough times.

i almost NEVER fight with my BFF i mean we have differences but we don’t fight about them we both LOVE basketball tho
My friend and I haven’t fought for at least 2 years and when we have fought, it has never been a real fight. LIke in kindergarten my friend thought she was being replaced with a stuffed pig. This is our seventh year knowing each other.

Wow, that’s aweful. I’m so sorry for you, losing your friends and all, it’s terrible. Why don’t you try having a long talk, see if you’ve offended them without knowing it, and apologize. And you know, it’s ok to cry if you need to, and you can talk to your parents and ask them what to do. So sorry, I hope you get everything patched up. Hope everything works for Nibbles, too.

Nibbles. I get how you feel. Your friend is going away for a LONG period of time and your Sister is tying the knot. Tying the know means getting married by the-way. I did a pause because on friday we got a nine WEEK old puppy named Ruby. She a Mastiff mixed with a Pit bull. And, she is still in what is probably the hardest thing to a puppy, potty training. :P Yeah, talk to Laura about a going-away party, incase she is gone for 3+ Months. And talk to your sister about it, tell her how your life is going. Maybe you can work something out.
I know what you mean………. one of my very good friends moved somewhere out of reach. Very out of reach. Well I hope you feel better soon!
