Molly’s Birthday Party: Part 1

Nibbles Hippo, reporting from Molly’s birthday party. I’d like to say that it’s been a huge success, but…that’s not entirely true. Here’s what’s happened so far: we all arrived here at 4:00, ready for some pizza and cake and games. When we first got here, we played truth or dare and some card games. And that was great. Until Millie came back from a play date with a friend.

Millie noticed the card game and decided that SHE knew better about how to play. She grabbed the deck of cards and threw them up in the air, laughing as they fell.

Molly yelled for her mom, and Millie was trotted upstairs.

We went into the kitchen after a little while to get some drinks and pizza. When we got there, Molly’s mom said the pizza guy hadn’t come yet, but that we could help ourselves to chips and soda. Millie, however, had already been doing just that. She tasted all of the different potato chips. The ones she didn’t like, she spit out and put back in the bowl.

Needless to say, no one ate any chips. The soda was good, until Millie insisted on pouring her own and spilled the bottle.

I honestly though Molly was going to cry, but her mom said she had more in the cupboard.
Molly’s mom suggested that we watch a movie until the pizza arrived. So we did – except that Millie sang and danced through most of it, so we really didn’t hear all that much of the dialogue.

After about half an hour, Molly’s mom stomped down into the basement. “Millie,” she said angrily, “Did someone come to the door earlier this evening?” Millie nodded.
“Did you tell that someone to go away?”
“Yup!” Millie said proudly. “No strangers at my sister’s party!”
“Was that someone carrying a pizza?” Molly’s mom asked, looking tired.
“Yes!” Millie said. “Three pizzas!”
“WHAT?!” Molly yelled. “First she ruins our games, then she wrecks the movie and eats our snacks, and now she wrecked dinner? Not to mention the balloons yesterday. Millie, you are the WORST sister ever! My birthday is RUINED because of you!”

Molly ran all the way up to her room and slammed the door.

And now we’re all sitting here, wondering what to do next.

Poor Molly! I imagine that is frustrating and disappointing! But, in my opinion, Molly acted too dramatic and was harsh on her little sis. Millie is just a little kid, she shouldn’t be too upset with her…i’m sure Millie wasn’t purposely trying to ruin Molly’s party. And it seemed like when she told the pizza man to go away because he was a stranger, she was trying to be nice…Like she said, she doesn’t want any strangers coming to her sisters birthday party! I hope Molly just forgives Millie and continues with her B-Day Party…she needs to just calm down and try to have fun anyway!

Millie needs to learn some manners, even if she is a pig. My pig Penllape learns discipline..
