Ugh, you guys! Today has been the absolute worst. I didn’t even realize it was Friday the 13th until I got to school, but my bad luck started as soon as I woke up. Here’s what happened: I got out of bed and stubbed my toe on my night table. Plumpy told me that the hot water wasn’t working, so I had to have a cold shower. Let me tell you something that’s no fun at all: having a cold shower! After that, I got dressed and ripped my sweater as I put it on. Then I went downstairs for breakfast and found out that the milk had spoiled, so I couldn’t have cereal. We were all out of butter and jam (Plumpy is shopping tonight), so I had PLAIN toast. With nothing on it. Not tasty! Anyway, I picked up my video camera and walked to school. On the way, I didn’t see the huge patch of ice and I completely slipped. I dropped my camera and as of right now, it won’t turn on! Alex is going to look at it, but I don’t expect much from today. Maybe I’ll have him try and fix it tomorrow.
Ugh!
Nibbles, that stuff about Friday the 13th is just a supersticion. You can have a bad day anytime, what day it is does not matter. That stuff could have happened any time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sorry you had a bad day, but you shouldn’t believe silly stuff like that.

Aw, I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t think that 13 is unlucky, though. 13 is my lucky number. Everyone has bad days. Once, I had a bad day on Friday the 7th. Seven is my unlucky number. By the way, I hope that you didn’t get hurt when you slipped and fell.

Don’t worry, Nibbles. You are so not alone. I know a lot of people who had bad luck today (although I got superlucky and had no bad luck). But you have to just look at it with a positive attitude, like a “Oh, it’s Friday the 13th! Well, better look out for some bad luck and just go right along with it” sort of attitude. It’s all on the outlook!

Not a problem until after school. My brother knocked over things in the grocery store turning cartwheels in the isles, turning a trip for a gallon of milk and dog food into a complete disaster. Then he went to the garage, got hold of the drill, and started boring holes on the wall. Ugh!
i don’t believe in friday the 13th, either! in fact it’s my friend’s bday today, and I finally learned how to do a flip i’ve been wanting to do for AGES!

I decided a few years ago that I was going to make Friday the 13th a LUCKY day for me…and it’s worked! So much of every day is your attitude. If you expect to have a lucky day or a good day or lousy day, you usually get what you’re thinking about. Be positive and, even if the day isn’t so great, you’ll still be better able to handle anything that goes wrong with a good attitude and not let it get you down too much.
