Reuniting Lost Loves

It’s me Salley again. Alex went back to the library to do some research on the Ghost Pirate and his Princess and apparently there have been some sightings of the Ghost Pirate Princess in a cave in Adventure Park. Alex thinks that to release the Ghost Pirate we had to travel into Adventure Park and lead her to the shipwreck. When she and the Ghost Pirate are reunited, he will be able to leave the shipwreck with her and return with her to Adventure Park.

So we all steeled ourselves for a scary morning and headed over to Adventure Park and into the caves. When we entered the caves it was pitch dark and we could hear an eerie wailing sound. Stoogles got ready to turn around and run but Alex grabbed him and dragged him deeper into the cave. Finally, we came to a larger cavern with an underground lake, where a beautiful ghostly lady sat crying on a rock in the middle of the water. Alex asked her what was wrong and she said that there was a storm at sea and she was separated from her love and now he was lost forever. Alex told her that he knew where to find her lost love. Suddenly her face contorted into a mask of anger. She flew across the water and came right up to Alex’s face. The she cried out that if he lied, Alex would feel her wrath. I could feel Stoogles shaking next to me when she said that. Alex turned and the princess floated past us as we parted to let them pass, with Alex leading the way through the caves.

We followed at a distance as Alex marched along, with this ghostly vision trailing behind him. As we neared the shipwreck we could hear the Ghost Pirate’s sobs. Suddenly, the princess whooshed past Alex toward the boat. The sobs stopped abruptly as we came to the shore. The whole boat shuddered violently then a bright glowing light appeared from within. There was a big flash and then the two ghostly figures flew up into the sky, dancing and laughing. The Ghost Pirate his Princess floated over to us and thanked us for our help. Then the two of them drifted away toward the Adventure Park, arm in arm.

As soon as the two ghosts left, the shipwreck suddenly floated out into the lake, as if it had been held back before by some sort of invisible tether. When it reached the center of the lake, the ship quietly slipped beneath the surface and disappeared. We all just stood on the shore staring at each other. What a day!

I said how romantic it was, and Alex, Sparky and Stoogles all just looked at me like I was crazy. Then Sparky said “Gross.” And with that we all headed back to town.

Shouldn’t the ghosts have crossed over instead of returning to the adventure park since they’d found each other and had no more unfinished business?
