Roberta’s Babysitting Adventure: Part 2

Millie burst into tears. Her nose was bleeding and I don’t do so well with blood, so Molly said “Roberta, you take care of Holly – I’ll help Millie.”

I ran into the spare room and saw Holly standing up in her crib. She was so cute! But so freaked out to see me. I guess she was expecting to see her mom or her aunt, because as soon as she laid eyes on me, she began to wail much louder. I decided I should try to pick her up. I didn’t realize how heavy she’d be! I managed to scoop her out of her crib (somewhat awkwardly) and hold her against my shoulder. She was REALLY upset at that point (can you say hysterical?), but I started walking around the room, humming a little tune. After a few minutes, she started to calm down. After about ten minutes of walking, she was just whimpering. I walked into the living room with her and found Molly sitting with Millie, who was holding an ice pack on her nose.

“I think her snout might be really hurt,” Molly said nervously. “I’m going to see if Debbie Dragon can drive us to see Dr. Quack,” Molly said. “Are you OK to stay here with Holly?”

“Alone?” I asked. I was definitely not OK with that.

“We’ll only be gone for a little while,” Molly said. “And my mom and aunt will be back in no time. Please, please Roberta?”
What could I do? I nodded, and watched as Molly ran out the door to see if Debbie (who lives next door) was home.  Millie just sat and had big tears dripping down her face – her nose obviously hurt a lot. Holly sat quietly and watched Millie. She seemed kind of interested in what was going on.  She tried babbling at Millie, but Millie was too upset to talk.
Molly came running back in, Debbie following close behind. She took one look at Millie and said, “Oh, dear. We’d better get you to the doctor, young lady.”
Millie started to cry even harder. Molly took her hoof and said, “Come on, Millie. It’s going to be OK.”
And then, suddenly, all three of them piled into Debbie’s car and were gone.

And Holly and I were alone.

poor roberta. though I think that holly kind of likes her. But you can never tell what would happen. If I were babysitting my aunt’s baby(or toddler) I would just let her play with toys and crawl around looking at stuff. It’s no biggy

Oh, Roberta, I feel for ya girl, I really do. I babysit my aunt’s babies all the time! And they can be a pain. They are both girls, so at least there’s that. They can be a lot of trouble, and they are one and two. So I really do feel for ya. Byes! ○♥○MRT○♥○
