Roberta’s Conundrum

Roberta here, with a bit of a conundrum. See, I was at my locker after school and I kind of overheard something that I wasn’t supposed to overhear.

Alex was talking to Sparky about a girl he likes.

He was saying how worried he was about what to get for that certain special someone for Valentine’s Day. Alex mentioned a box of chocolates (which I think is PERFECT for anyone, really), but Sparky was saying that maybe he should get this girl a pack of baseball cards and some gum.  I wasn’t sure which girl they were talking about, so I thought maybe it was someone who liked sports (and gum). But then Alex said, “I don’t know if Molly would like that!” And I couldn’t help myself, I had to interject. “No!” I said. “Alex, go with the chocolates. Molly doesn’t even like baseball.”

Whoops.

Alex turned BRIGHT red, and Sparky didn’t look too pleased. Well, it’s not my fault! They were talking, and I could hear them. I’m a rabbit! I have good ears!

Anyway, Alex said something quickly about going with the chocolates and then ran off. Sparky said, “Way to go, Roberta. He didn’t want anyone to know.” And then he stomped off.

I feel kind of bad, but I didn’t MEAN to overhear them, you know?
So now I have to decide: do I tell Molly what I overheard, or keep it to myself? Molly is my really good friend…but maybe Alex should tell her himself?

What would you do, friends?

wow. WHAT A MESS!! leave it to yourself, Roberta. apologize to sparky and alex. keep it to yourself. you can still talk to molly about other stuff.

Don’t tell her, Roberta. Alex needs to work out his feelings for Roberta by himself and it’s better if you interfere. Also, you should go apologize to Alex for overhearing his words, otherwise there really could be problems with the ‘Kinz. Also, a conundrum is like a dilemma, right? Just making sure!

I think you should tell Alex that you will not tell –and then don’t tell anyone.

Ok, yes. Everyone else who has been commenting here is right. DO NOT TELL MOLLY! I would definitely want the guy to tell me that he liked me, not my friend. Please do your friend a HUGE favor and keep it to yourself. It WILL be better this way, I totally promise. <3 Good luck

Roberta, even though you mean well, i think Alex should tell Molly himself. You would be a good friend to Alex by keeping that secret.

Don’t tell her. Let her find out on her own. See if you can find Alex and Sparky again, tell them you didn’t mean to overhear. They should understand, it’s very easy to hear things that you’re not supposed to. But I still think they’re too young for that.

Wow Roberta. *NICE MOVE* (sarcasism). Now that it’s done, it’s done. Apologize to Alex and keep it to yourself.
