Secret Friendship Skill: Making a Club with your Friends

I love being part of a club. I know I can always count on the ‘Kinz Crew. We do fun activities together and help solve each others’ problems.

Have you ever thought of creating your own club with a group of your friends? It’s a good way for friends get together and focus on their shared interests. If you and some of your friends have something you love to do, like reading, baking, or making crafts, a club gives you the opportunity to participate in an activity that you enjoy, share your experiences with others and explore and learn together.

Some things to think about are: where you will meet? Does someone have the perfect tree house or attic room that has enough space to act as a clubhouse? How many people do you want in your club? Is it going to be a small club for you and your close friends or will it be open to anyone?

Create an attendance book to keep track of who is at your meetings. You can appoint members to different roles, i.e., the president will lead each meeting, the secretary will keep minutes. Write up some guidelines for your club.  Be respectful and inclusive. Try to think of fun rituals to include, like a secret handshake or coded messages.

Keep a log of what your club is doing. If your baking club has tried new a new recipe, record it in your log. Book clubs will want to keep track of books they have read, and make a note of who liked a particular book and who didn’t.

There are lots of different types of clubs. If you and your friends are looking for ideas, why not take the quiz, What kind of club should you make?

Being part of a club is an excellent way to spend time with people you like doing something you enjoy.

I have a club though I didn’t make it up.My friend Sklyar and her friend Tori made up the club.It is called The Hippie Club and our mascot is a panda eraser from mudpuddles named Tree Hugger Joe!!!!!To give you a little hint of what the club is I will give you our schedule. We have a little notebook (each of us have our own) and it says Peace Love & Best Friends and it has our names on it.We HAD two other people in the club,Addison and Lindaylln, but they didn’t come to the first meeting and Addison is moving and Lindaylln just couldn’t come.Only Skylar,Tori, and Me could go to the first meeting. This is what we wrote down in the book so far (we have onlt had one meeting because we just started the club)

I wouldn’t call clubs “Secret” Friendship Skills-They’re not really secret. Lots of people have clubs. I guess you could keep the club secret, but, I dunno. There’s not really a huge appeal. Clubs are clubs are clubs. It’s kinda hard to pick days to meet, it’s hard to find a mutual subject, it’s a little boring after a while, but I appreciate the idea, Webkinz Newz.
Happy Father’s Day to all out there! (On another note entirely)
