Nibbles and Laurabeard: Christmas Sisters

Dear Plumpy,

I just wanted to send you a card to say hi and hope that you and Charles are having a wonderful holiday so far. I had a great day today. First of all we had a Secret Santakinz gift exchange at school. It was so much fun! Polly (our school council president) made loads of cookies, but after I got so sick from all that candy at Hallowe’en, I resisted the urge and just had a few.

Also, Dogbeard is going to be away this Christmas too so Laurabeard and I decided that this year we would be each other’s ‘Substitute Sister’. Today we got together to exchange gifts. Laurabeard gave me this really pretty necklace and I gave her a scarf that I knit all by myself! She said she loved it. She and her family are going to be going away soon on a big pirate expedition with Dogbeard when he gets back so it is so nice to be able to spend some time with her before they leave.

She had just received the funniest letter from Dogbeard that she shared with me. It turns out that he and his crew went in search of some treasure they’d gotten wind of way up in Northern Webkinz World. One of his old shipmates had heard of a hoard of toys and candy buried under a mountain of snow.

Well, Dogbeard and his crew tracked down the treasure and sure enough – there were all these awesome toys and yummy candy and chocolates. But just as they started to load the treasure onto their ship, these little guys came dashing toward them, shouting. Dogbeard thought they were being attacked by local warriors but then he noticed how strangely they were dressed. They were all wearing striped stockings and long slippers with bells on the ends, and they had funny little hats. Suddenly Dogbeard realized that they were elves!

As they approached they started shouting at him that this was one of Santakinz’ holding stations, where he would be stopping on his trip to pick up more gifts. Dogbeard and his crew had discovered one of Santakinz’ stashes of gifts! Can you believe it?

Dogbeard said that he apologized for the mistake and then the elves invited him and his crew into their workshop for some hot cocoa and cookies. (Dogbeard said that they were the best cookies he had ever tasted!) Then the elves invited Dogbeard and his crew to stay for a few days and warm up before heading back on their ship.

Isn’t that the sweetest thing?

I’ve got to run now. I just wanted to let you know that my holidays are going really well so far, and even though I miss you, I’m really excited for you and Charles. I hope your first Christmas together is fabulous!

Lots of love,

Nibbles
