Wow – I think I just realized something. The other day at lunch I was telling everyone about my big ski trip when Molly said to Salley, “But won’t you miss having your best friend around at Christmas?” Salley answered, “No – I want him to go and have fun. I wouldn’t want to stand in the way of one of my friends doing something that’s important to them.”
Salley’s comment really got me thinking about how last year I gave her such a hard time about going to visit her dad for Christmas instead of staying and hanging out with me. I was being kind of selfish, and now here I am just planning to swan off without even giving Salley another thought. I don’t think I’m being a very good friend. I hope I can make it up to her before I leave for my trip.
