Purr-Cilla Saves the Day

SalleyJune18

Hey, it’s Salley. Ugh. Okay, I know this is not very diplomatic – what with me being the president and all – but I kind of hate it when Purr-cilla is right. When we first asked for volunteers, everyone just wanted to do the fun stuff, like the rides and the games. But we had a lot more not-so-fun activities like set-up and clean-up and taking tickets and stuff like that that no one wanted to do. Stoogles and I were stuck. We couldn’t figure out how to divide up the volunteers. Then, Purr-cilla came along and said that we just needed a system that would be fair so that everyone would get a chance to help out. So Purr-cilla made up a calendar and divided the jobs into time slots. She asked everybody to sign up for the time that they would be able to help out. Then, instead of letting people choose whichever volunteer position they wanted, Purr-cilla put the names for each time slot into a hat and pulled them out one by one. The first name she pulled got to man the Giant Slide. The second name got to supervise … Read more

Polly’s Cupcake

Polly'sCupcake

Hey everyone! I’m SO excited to enter Fluffington’s Cupcake Competition at the Fall Fair! I decided to go with something very simple, but very cute. Check out my spring cupcake!               What you do: 1. Frost your cupcake with vanilla icing. Take a bit of vanilla icing aside and color it yellow. 2. Put your yellow icing into an icing bag and pipe flowers on your cupcake. 3. Put a candy-coated chocolate in the middle of each flower. 4. Stick gummy candies all over the cupcake. 5. Serve and think of spring!

Tour of Webkinz World: The Kinzville Forest

Kinzville Forest

By Inukshuk Introduction: The Kinzville forest is a fascinating place that holds many, many secrets. Most Webkinz have never ventured further than the Adventure Park – but there is SO much more to see! The Kinzville forest is home to many different Zingoz and Singoz – in fact, that’s how you access the Distant Zingdom! I looked at so many maps at the Kinzville Academy library – and there are millions of acres of uncharted territory out there. It’s amazing – and it kind of makes me want to be an explorer!   History:The Kinzville Forest has been around as long as Webkinz World. There are trees in there that are ancient. I interviewed Arte Fact, famed archaeologist (and Kinzville Forest expert), and he said that priceless treasure is fabled to be buried deep in the forest. Thanks to Arte, everyone knows about the Azure Zingoz’ treasure – but he said that it was just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more to discover! He said that some of the earliest pioneers in Kinzville lived in the forest, so it’s a great place to find artifacts. I decided to … Read more

Molly (and Millie’s) Froggy Cupcake

Froggy

Molly here! So I was working on my cupcake when my sister Millie walked into the kitchen. She saw what I was doing and immediately wanted to be involved and ‘help me out’. *Sigh*. I couldn’t say no, so we ended up with something a little simpler than I imagined. But it’s cute, right? Maybe Fluffington will go for cute. I hope so.         If you want to make a frog like ours, here’s what you do: 1. Frost your cupcake in green frosting. Save a little bit and put it into an icing bag. 2. Cut a large marshmallow in half. Stick them on for eyes. 3. Put a little blob of green icing on each marshmallow half. Stick on a candy-coated chocolate. 4. Draw on a big smiley face with the green frosting. 5. Stick on a sour candy for a bowtie. 6. Watch your little sister dance around the kitchen on a sugar high (after eating many of the candies that didn’t make it onto the cupcake) singing “I love my froggy”. Hope you win the contest anyway.

Salley Cat’s Polar Bear Cupcake

This is my awesome polar bear cupcake design! I hope it reminds Fluffington of his favorite artist, Blake E. Behr (then maybe I’ll win the cupcake contest!). Here’s how you do it:   1. Frost your cupcake in vanilla frosting. 2. Stick on one brown candy-coated chocolate for a nose, and two chocolate chips for eyes. 3. Cut a marshmallow in half and stick on the halves for ears. 4. Cut a red jelly candy in half and stick on half for a mouth. 5. Eat up!

A Sweet Surprise!

Something VERY exciting happened on my way home from the ‘Kinz meeting! Salley and I stopped at the W Shop to pick up a chocolate bar (that wasn’t the exciting thing, although it was delicious). We were talking about the cupcake contest when suddenly, from behind a shelf, out pops Fluffington! He asked “did you say CUPCAKE CONTEST?!” We told him about the fair and the contest, and you’ll NEVER believe what he said next! “If you let me be the judge, I’ll donate a huge prize! Two tickets to the Henrietta Hippo Theatre of Performing Arts, a dinner for four at Le Snout and dessert at La Soufflé, and W200!” Salley and I nearly fainted! Salley managed to say “Sure, yes, great!” And Fluffington shook her paw and said “It’s a deal!” Oh. My. Gosh. I’m SO excited! I can’t wait to tell everyone. Somehow, I think even Purr-Cilla will be entering now. Salley and I both decided: we’re going to head home and start baking tonight!

Volunteers Wanted!

SalleyJune18

So guess what I learned today? Sometimes your friends aren’t very helpful. Sometimes you’ve got to beg and plead to get stuff done. And sometimes, if all else fails, you’ve got to bribe your friends with salsa and homemade cookies. Stoogles and I had a ‘Kinz meeting today and we were asking our friends to help with the fair. We just wanted them to volunteer for one hour at a game or ride or booth. The idea is to get LOTS of volunteers, so everyone only has to work for one hour, and they get two hours of fun. The problem is, EVERYONE wanted the ‘cool’ jobs, like making cotton candy or helping with the rides. No one wanted to sell tickets or work at the first aid station. So I offered cookies or salsa to anyone who took a ‘boring’ job. And you know what? They STILL complained! Eventually, Molly agreed to help at the first aid station (she said it could be ‘interesting’). Stoogles and I decided to take tickets. Yuck. Maybe Purr-Cilla has had better luck finding volunteers.
